Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me out. Occasionally I am driving and suddenly my car, 2007 M3 with 2.3 5 speed auto, goes into limp mode (3rd gear) and I get the AT light and CEL light illuminate. If I stop, turn the car off then on the car will shift and drive fine. It occurs completely randomly. It may not happen for days, then while driving it trips again out of the blue. There is no rhyme, reason or pattern to this. I have all new engine mounts, have removed, cleaned and reconnected all transmission related electrical connections, checked all wires and still get code p0753 completely randomly. Other than that the transmission shifts fine. I have searched google for days without anyone posting anywhere a fix for this issue, although many people are having the same problem.

Please help before I lose my mind!

When is the last time you changed out the Trans fluid? Could be low level or dirty fluid, hence the random codes.

Thanks for the reply. I have done a drain and fill twice (3L each time). ATF is a little brown, but not bad and no burnt smell.
