I am trying to replace the brake pads on a 2012 Mazda 3. I loosened the master cylinder cap and when I try to compress the drive side rear caliper piston with a C-clamp it does not budge. Should it be reasonable easy to compress or am I missing something?

Park brake style caliper. You'll need a special tool that'll turn the piston back.

Something like this will work. You'll be able find them at Canadian Tire. Use a ratchet and an extension with it. Should be easy enough to turn back. Occasionally the pads will have a couple bumps on the backing side. Line those up with the dimples/holes on the caliper piston.

or use needle nose pliers. twist and push..
i have that cube. as it is, none of the sides on that line up with the mazda's brake piston. one of the sides has the pegs pretty close. just a little wide, so you'd need to grind down a bit of the two pegs on that side.

You need something like this. I found that needle nose oilers wouldn't work for me. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/10/03fc9e2ca46be9fac0e97a6edd293e9f.jpg

If you get a kit, make it includes both left-hand and right-hand tool. Makes the tool more useful as it will work with more vehicles.
