Hello,
I was at the dealership the last time around, and i was told that the shocks or struts were leaking.
I also notice a rattle every time i go over a speed bump in the front engine bay area driver side.

Could these two be related?
If so, and it is struts that need to be replaced?

what brands are half decent that will last a while? I live with someone who gets car sick easily. It is something i have to keep in mind with the brand/model number choice.

thanks

Front rattle could be your swaybar bushings. Those tend to produce a clunking sound when you go over bumps, once they go bad.

In terms of strut/shock replacement, do a quick search on here and you'll find a ton of threads with useless info on options available to you.

Good luck sorting it out!

out of curiosity, how would you describe the clunking noise, if you could.

If you just want stock replacement then go with the KYB sturts. They are good value and last a while. Probably won't cure the knock but replace those and go from there. Check that the tire doesn't have any movement when in the air to be safe.
