Hello all,

So today i tried putting music folders on a lexar usb and plugged it in to my usb slot in the car to listen. Nothing happens, the usb blinks red for a second and nothing. I go to audio sources, and its grayed out and nothing shows. I'm wondering is it because the type of usb? could it be because i have the music in folders on the usb?

Also not much of an issue but is there a way to disable the car in motion feature, I find it annoying that it tells me i have a text message and when i click read it says for your safety you cannot read this message or whatever. whats the difference from reading that message to the message that someone sent to me? I understand the whole safety while driving but that just makes me want to pick up my phone and look at the message. Its also annoying that i cant gps a location while driving.
is there a way around this?

What gen are we talking about, i'm assuming 3rd?

what size is the USB stick? have you tried a smaller one? Try putting one song right on the root of the USB and see if it will read it. Make sure your USB stick isn't some crazy format, it needs to be Fat, which is the default for Windows but you can always double check.

If you are running the OEM stereo then AFAIK there is no way to disable the safety messages.

Update: I tried a whole new usb and it worked fine. I guess i cant use 64gb lexar, maybe because its usb 2.0 or 3.0 oh well.

I've got a 120GB and it works but I find it really slow to load and does freeze up sometimes.

The text msg not loading thing is because somewhere in the message there is an emoji or photo that can't be displayed.

Hope this helps :)

make sure the drive is formatted to FAT32. Could be the cause.
