Hey guys, I just joined TM3 and couple of weeks ago i bought my speed3. i like to know more about mods and different stages. i bought the car with some mods already done to it.
1. K&N intake
2. Cobb tuning inlet pipe for turbo
3. HKS v3 blowoff valve
4. side panel gauges - PSI, Volt stablizer, air/fuel ratio
5. has Volts stablizer
6. strut bar in front
7. stock pipe cut down and added a exhaust, not sure exactly which one but its pretty good sounding. loud when it needs to be.
8. short shifter
9. stage 2 clutch
10. HSD coilovers <- my speed3 was the first in north america to get these because they just made hsd coilovers for mazda3 got em from JRP performance
lastly im not sure if the who had it tuned it but its stupid fast. most of my friends who drove it said its around 350 hp. i raced with it and took out evo and 3 series bmw. i have driven 335i and this is faster than that.
i need to put rear engine mount, side mount and transmission mount. and i would like to get accessport but before that i would like to know if i want low profile rims what should i do ? do i need camber kit ? need suggestions thanks.

Welcome! interested to see pic of the engine bay, I don't recall seeing a lot of speed with front strut bar with stock intercooler.
Does VTA/ Blow off not suggested for speed3 platforms? running recirculated rather?
HSD coilover that you're getting, might have camber adjustability on the front top mount, that will allow you to dial in the front camber if you choose to lower the ride height. Rear camber adjustments need a aftermarket adjustable camber arm.

Welcome to the forum. I suggest you go and read a little bit more about the mazdaspeed and how much power it makes with certain mods, what mods to put on, etc.aside from the link @S.f.w posted, Mazdaspeedforums.org can give you a lot of info too. Cobb accessport and upgraded fuel pump is a start.

I should change the HKS Blowoff to turbosmart 50/50 right ? whats the cost involved for buying one ?
Welcome
Lots of reading on here for you to do with this platform. Sounds like you already have a nice set of mods to work with. I didn't read internals in that list though; if your Speed doesn't have it then I'd strongly suggest looking into that before any other mod you consider. An then as you said, an AP would also be important to have.
Happy modding!

with the mod list you have, you don't even have 300 bhp. (estimated 260 whp).

As others have said, good luck with 350 or even 300 at the wheels with those mods. I've got and SRI/TIP, HPFP upgrade, catless test pipe and a Stage 2, 93+ octane OTS tune and virtual dyno is saying I'm only making 245hp/289ft.lb of torque. Take that for whats it's worth though. Even a stock Speed3 shouldn't have an issue pulling a 3 series unless it's a 335.
That said, enjoy the car!

With a dp and custom tune your numbers could be much higher. I'm riding 300whp and just over 370lbs wt. And that's on 91.

Oh I'm aware, just keep putting things on the back burner. I'll join the 300 club one day...

How is it that some of you are not even close to 300 ? stock hp of 2010 speed3 is 270. with those mods thats easily 300.

lol....and neither are you. The only power mods you have are Intake & exhaust..... (And sorry to burst your bubble) that adds very, very, very little hp to the speed. Stock bhp is 263 by the way. So you might have 270bhp with those two mods. If you don't believe us, go and have your car dyno'd.

More or less. Every speed is different & each one will dyno different whp. You are in the right range. 220-240whp.

The big difference is that you're talking brake horsepower (bhp) which is the available power at the engine's flywheel and we're all talking wheel horsepower (whp) which is the power the wheels to put to the ground. WHP can be roughly 5-15% lower than BHP due to drive train losses. So while 245hp may sound low for the mods (albeit it is lower than it could be) you've got to factor that it is making up to 15% more power at the flywheel (280hp or so) which is the numbers you are referring to. The same applies to torque with my 289ft.lbs at the wheels (whp) versus say 330 at the flywheel (bhp).
Regardless, the Speed3 is a plenty capable car if you do your reading and proper mods will only push it further. I've had mine for 4 years and up until 2 days ago I didn't know or care what the actual numbers were I just knew when I put my foot on the floor it was a fun car so just enjoy it regardless of what the numbers actually are.

If you click settings at the top right you'll see "Edit Avatar" along the left side which is the picture beside everyone's posts. You should also see "Edit Profile Picture" although I have no clue what photo that actually is. You may need a certain number of posts in order to edit your avatar or profile pics though.
