Hello,

I have stripped the weld nut ( starting threads) where the rear shock bolts to.Now, i cannot get the rear shocks installed. The nut is an M12 x 1.25.

Using a tap can be harder since it forms new thread and if not properly aligned, could ruin the thread of the nut. Is there other methods to repair the internal thread?

Its my only car and need to repair asap.
If you have the NES internal kit, mind helping a buddy out?

You can heli-coil it if you don't want to change the size of the threads.

I've used these before and they are quite a nifty tool, apply a bit of lock-tite prior to installing the insert and it'll last a long, long time.

I snapped mine last fall. Options were use a cutting torch or air hammer. New hard wear with a locknut I had to remove A bunch of panels to get access from the top but it worked.
