Hi I have an 06' hatch and lately my rear hatch light when I open the hatch won't turn on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. When it doesn't work and I just unlock the doors to get something out of the hatch the doors lock after 1 minute sensing none of the doors where open. I'm thinking the problem is a switch or loose wire. Anyone else had this problem before? Need help fixing it cause at night I can't see nothing!

Do you mean the little light on the side of the trunk?

Yes whenever i open the hatch it doesnt turn on. Bulb is not blown out btw.
Take the cover off and check for a loose connection where the bulb is. The wires would be loose or frayed off or something.

Mine has been out since I've owned it never cared for it but I'd take it apart and test all connections like FD22 mentioned the end of the balb could have some corrosion on it so try taking out and wiping the connections.

Could try a new balb too if it's not fixed you can always return it!

I have checked the wires inside the bulb housing and its all fine. I have 2 led strips inside my hatch as well coming from the same power source and theres nothing. Is there any switches i can check?

There's a switch on the light itself

You can also check the fuse

Switch is on. Fuse is good. Could anyone link me to a wiring diagram of the rear hatch electrical. I'm thinking it's a switch in there for the latch.

I would guess its an issue with the switch or specifically the activator (possibly sticking), going from your first post mentioning doors will lock with the hatch open..
For schematics try Google, may take some time though.

That makes sense if the actuator is sticking. I will try and open it up tomorrow and maybe add some oil in there.

Use a light penetrating fluid if your going to spray it.

This morning i opened the hatch and 3 seconds later the light turns on but is flickering a little. It would be great if i could get a wiring diagram!

So I guess we updated our browser at work, and now for some reason I can't view wiring diagrams on our program. I'll try one of our other computers tomorrow.
