I have no mods on my car I was wondering what you guys have on your Mazdas? I only painted my trims a couple weeks ago to silver/grey and installed type s speakers so far. And if you guys have any input on what I should probably do with my '10 mazda 3

Mods is for your own preferences

Mod your car the way you like it...not from other peoples perspective

Two mods you need for sure: full synthetic oil and snow tires.

This time of year? Snow tires, Fresh fluids/winterize the car and all weather mats.

Coils, RSB, FSB, HID kit, TRZ TM, RMM, CAI, catless DP, FMIC, CBE, OCC, BOV, Accesport and thats pretty much it.

Just kidding, its not pretty much it.
Don't mod for winter, get good winter tires, and make sure you're ready in terms of tune up/oil change blah blah blah.
Scotch guard your upholstery, or get those plastic molded mats to keep your carpets clean during winter

Wanna buy my mods?

Enjoy the car and change/upgrade where you see fit. It's a journey to enjoy, not a race.

Winter tires
Lowering springs when I replaced my struts
Rims when $ allowed
Dash cam :)
Open mouth grille
Offset licence plate
Hella horns because OEM horn is wimpy
CS SRI
CS skid tray (previously smoked my oil pan)
Painted interior pieces.
Vinyl wrapped hood.
Roof rack because my mazda3 = pickup truck

2006 hatch and no more than 2k rims $300 exhaust $180 tint $130 Sri $60 grille $100 speed3 spoiler $60 2 jl audio 12w3v2 $180 amp $180 door speakers all around $80 music sensitive LEDs throughout my interior $40 Thule roof rack $130 fog lights+ yellow tint $50 works out to $1500 plus little thing here and there like ricey decals and small things. What I did was looked on kijiji and Craigslist (when I was in the us for awhile) also eBay is your friend with most thing LED lights grille spoiler colored tints decals (unless you find someone local) cheap things that used parts are not a bad thing find things that you like look to find the best price possible sometimes you'll have to wait ( I waited a few months for exhaust and found a mint hks hi power exhaust for $180) but my car is based off of things I liked that I found the cheapest. Just don't cheap out when it comes to the important stuff. If I were to do it again I would start off with performance mods Sri/cai engine mounts exhaust headers. Then go onto to appearance rims lower tint.

All that money what happens when your car can't be used anymore? Just part it out and make back what you paid on the mods/parts?

Sorry about your dad :(

And you can part out some of the mods, just make sure you keep all the stock stuff too though.

Are you at the point where when you turn on the AC it smells like old smoke? I saw something for that...trying to remember what it was. I'll keep you posted when I remember :)

Sorry to hear about your dad.
You can part out the car when you are getting rid of it, but you won't get much back from it.
As the bison guy mentioned, keep all the stock parts to put back on so when you sell the car itself, it won't scare away potential buyers, or if you get sick of modding the car.

Mine is a 2006 hatch, I spent probably around 2k-3k on mods, I haven't done anything to it for 3 years now.
It is starting to rust really badly and looks very dated, but its a car that gets when to where I need to go.

I used Proslove carpet cleaner and scrubbed the hell out of the headliner in my old girl. It made a huge difference.

Solution is easy; Get the interior steam cleaned including the headliner. Buy a vent type air freshener, buy window visors and always crack a window or two open when you smoke..Always!! I smoke regularly and when most non-smokers get into my car they can't tell that I do.

Yes that's what I do I hold my cig towards the crack of the window and it gets sucked out but when people smoke in my car they let it all in won't open windows unless I do it for them. And some let the ashes fall on my rug which is annoying

If you plan to mod your car, you do it because you enjoy the process and progress you make.
At the end of the day, modding cars is a money pit. It never ends.

You'll need to decide if you're going for function or aesthetics.
