What specifically doesn't work? Please give more specific details.

Does it not unlock, lock, is it unresponsive, etc?

the keyless entry does nothing.it worked fine before i did the two things i have mentioned, though i feel like daft eedjit i have yet to check the fuse, at the present time you have to manually lock and unlock at the door

Try the other remote.

maybe when you changed the battery the keyless entry needs to be re-sync?

It shouldn't but who knows what has happened.

Maybe just a coincidence it happened after the changes. After checking your fuses, I'd say the battery is dead on your remote.

i'd also say remote batteries. I've pulled the car battery on my gen 1 several times, sometimes for days at a time and the fob has never needed a relearn

This may be the case for yours but not for the first gen.

further to my keyless entry problem when i changed tires and rims the vehicle warmed up and keyless entry worked slick as calf slobber. but when exposed to-14c it quit again so something is obviously contracting. as i am new to mazda and especially keyless entry i am at loss as where to start. i am glad i didn't pay dealership door charge to be told i was drinking cheap whiskey.

Question: Is the keyless entry factory or after market?

Factory keyless entry is controlled by the car's body computer, with a receiver module under the headliner. So the odds of it not working due to cold are pretty low. Aftermarket.... often connected using wiretaps. They work well if installed properly, but can easily damage the wires which could be the source of your problem.
