I think they\'ve been mentioned a few times here, but I\'ve never seen one. Where can I find one (preferably in the Norh York area)? Thanks.

You\'ll probably only find one in a newly built (Shell) gas station. I don\'t know of any in North York, but there is one on Dufferin & Carville Rd in York Region (newly built).

how about the esso ones? i don\'t think they have rails but i might be wrong..

you just drive over a sensor and it tells u when to stop.. it\'s a good winter wash for quick and dirty (5.99 i think with a 25L fillup)

sunoco has a station locator - search for Car Wash: Touchfree - Rollover (http://www.sunoco.ca/fnd_lc_stations.asp)

it doesn\'t appear to be up to date since the one by me (bathurst and rutherford) isn\'t listed.

you can also use Esso\'s station locator (http://map.essostations.ca/) and shell\'s station locator (www.shell.ca/code/locator/station_locator.html) but they\'re not as granular as the sunoco search for car washes.

I think the newer Esso touch-less stations use sensors not guide rails. I used one at Derry & Kennedy in Mississauga-no rails. Not a great wash either, but better than nothing.

AFAIK the newer Essos touchless washes don\'t have rails. I\'ve used these ones in the past and know 100% there are no rails:
1. Between Dufferin & Bathurst on Centre St.
2. SW corner Bayview & 16th Av.
3. NW corner Steeles & Woodbine.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

if I remember right, Major Mac and Bayview Esso also w/o rails.

a few more Esso wash w/o rail:
- Kennedy & Finch (scar)
- Kennedy & 14th (markham)

BTW, why are you looking for rail-less car wash? Because the railed one scrapes your lowered mz3?

then you should becareful when using Esso\'s rail-less wash (maybe not all but some) ... there\'s a bump you\'ve to roll over when you\'re driving out of the wash ... they\'re higher than typical bumps in parking lots or school zones ....

Yeah, they really are quite the bump, though I\'ve never had it scratch. It just eats away at my clutch a bit in winter when I want the underside well sprayed and try to go slowly over it without going down the other side :p

An update: I took it to an Esso rail-less wash today (Steels/Woodbine). Wasn\'t nearly as clean as doing it manually but it was decent and saved me a lot of time. I guess that\'s where I\'ll go for this winter.

oh, and there wasn\'t much of a bump and nothing scraped :)

now if only there were one of these washes closer to where I lived...

I think there is also an Esso at Keele and Finch (or maybe its Keele and Sheppard) thats touchless, and I don\'t think it had rails...

I take mine to the Esso touchless and railless wash at Morningside and Sheppard. And there is no bump in that one.

The Esso at Jane and Sheppard doesn\'t have any rails, just the bump.
The Esso at Keele and Finch has rails.
