Car details: 2008 Mazda 3 Auto 2L engine

I just noticed the backup light no longer work so I checked the bulbs and fuse which are both ok. Called the dealership to check if there is a backup light switch and he guy said no switch for automatic. I searched the web and only found backup light switch for manual transmission?

Could it be the immobilizer switch? Any ideas?

Thank You in advance for taking the time to read this ....

Automatic uses the transmission range selector, so yes,no separate switch. Suggest you double check the fuse. Any after market mods to the car? Have you had anything done to the car that touched the electrical? Not just recently... could have been something done in the past that has worked its way loose.

Thank you for the reply..
No mods done on the car. I will check the fuse again and will try to find electrical schematic for this car.
