2016 #2 Touge.ca track lapping event (Shannonville Full Track) - April 24th, 5pm - 8pm, Sunday evening

Hi all drivers,

It comes to our #2 event, end of the season event!! 25+ Events 2016 brought to you by Team Touge for your busy life style.

We have the track 5pm - 8pm, Sunday on April 24th.

We will have a short briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.

For those that have never been to the track, we encourage you to try it out, even if you're still on stock/all season tires (they'll suck, and burn up quick, but it's still fun)

Just a suggestion, but you need to have a drivers meeting or more marshals to educate and enforce track etiquette. Lots of passing in the corners, people not knowing how to let others by (let alone in a safe manner). Lots of people it seemed didn't even understand what "point to pass" was when I gave hand signals.

Did you know that the sti had a jerry can in the cabin at the time of the incident? what if it ruptured and all those people standing/parked around got hurt (which they shouldn't be doing)? Or how about the civics revving at the end and causing a nuisance? You need to be more proactive. Open lapping should be laid back and enjoyable, not dangerous and frustrating.

Thank you for your suggestions, in our drivers meeting before we started at the gate by the grandstand, we already spent time emphasizing clearing all loose items in the car before going to the track, nothing should be in the trunk, flying in the cabin, no gas can w/ or w/out fuel, leaking will cause fires, tightening all wheel nuts, passing rules...etc. we have discussed that at the drivers meeting about "point by pass" with signal indicators or proper hand signals.
We will have another drivers meeting in the middle of the event and address all issues/concerns with the drivers, like we did on Oct 25th Shanny event 2015, we had two drivers meeting, one at the beginning and one at the middle of the event.
Regarding the civic driver causing a nuisance, we have issued warning to the civic driver revving at the pit.
And also at our first event at DDT on April 17th, we have sent a BMW driver home after he did burnouts at the pit area, we have issued a warning with "Trespassing" offense.

i had a great time for my first time out, ( black top white bottom 8th gen civic ) and will be back out for many more! out of curiosity saw lots of photographers where can i find that?

and zzz3 i was there for the meeting and i heard no jerry cans and heard along with read the rules to passing etc. so in Touge defence the touched on the topic, the sti driver was just dumb enough to bring a jerry can out and not listen.

maybe do checks in car as going out to track like you do with wristbands? even just a quick glance? just an option for prevention

Appreciate your input schmat66,

We cannot perform any quick check (including trunk spaces, under the seats, interiors, or under the hood), right at the pit exit on every single vehicle, every driver gonna wait forever to go onto the track. If particular driver hiding alcohols, guns, weapons, drugs, weeds in the car and go onto the track, we can't be the cops there to search through the whole car, and hunt them down at the pit exit. Same as if you forgot to tighten the wheel nuts, and your wheel came off at the track, it is your responsibility. As all of the drivers are adults, mature individuals with valid drivers license here. We won't babysit you with a torque wrench making sure your nuts are properly tightened.

Our 2 cents.
