Hello. My power steering is stiff. sometimes its not i dont knw why . My tires are brand new 225/40/18 set the tire psi to 38 still stiff. Set it to 36 still thesame thing. My fluid is not low but mazda recommended to.do a steering flush but they said its still too early for it somehow i need to get it done. Any thoughts about it ? Does it have to do with the steering flush? Let me knw thanks..

The wider tire will provide more resistance.

The slightly wider tires will not effect your steering feel whatsoever...
A fluid change would likely do nothing...
If the fluid is full and no leaks from anywhere, and the issue is intermittent, it sounds like a electrical connection problem or the pump is failing. Are you still under warranty? If so, I would assume the dealer should diagnose and fix whatever the cause.
Curious why you are running at 38psi or 36 psi? ...Should be 32psi last I knew. It must feel like driving on rocks.

I bought the vehicle from mazda of Brampton at 75k 8months ago, now it is on 90km they did a extended warranty for major components and im not sure if it does cover it, so your saying that the electrical issue on the steering might be the problem or pump ? but whenver I move my steering from left or right when im on park im hearing like sound coming from front end like a robotic kind of sound lmfao. i dont know if thats normal for the power steering

no does it have tobe a light ? to indicate theres problem?
if you have extended warranty for it, bring it back to them and get it checked. its most likely your power steering pump/ rack&pinion problems. its common for these cars.

If you were having issues, more than likely it would give you some kind of error code.
And if the light was on, you would not have any assisted steering. in this scenario you would be fighting the steering wheel. The best way to explain it, turn on the ignition and turn the wheel without the car running. If that's what you are referring to then you have a problem.

The sound you are hearing is normal; it's because it's electrical power steering.
As for that intermittent thing it could be that your rpms drop low sometimes and alternator is not providing enough power so it cuts power steering. It happens a lot on my manual during the take off if I don't give enough gas. Saying that I Mazda screwed up this design as other cars with electrical power steering don't do that; likely getting needed power from battery when alternator can't keep up.
