Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you had this issue before. So every time i switch the gear from park to reverse, the car jolts really hard, and also happens when the car shifts from 1st to 4th. However; the jolt when shifting gears is not as hard as the jolt created when switching to reverse. After driving the car for 15 minutes, when everything is warm up, it seems that jolt would kind of go away but it still happens when shifting to 2nd or 3rd. On top of that, the car would over rev in 3rd,4th and 5th sometimes and it's really frustrating me. Can you guys help me identify what the problem is since i'm selling the car .
Thanks :)

Do you use your e-brake correctly when parking?
How are you able to shift from 1st to 4th? Do you mean shifting to any gear?
I imaging you have driven the car a while to let the trans fluid warm up a little before you expect it to shift more smoothly?
Most times you need to over-rev to get the shifts to be smooth. That's all I've found that helps to smooth out the shifts. Mine has always been like that. Overtime you find what works and allows for smoother shifts.
Try disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal for a few minutes (5-10) and allow everything to reset. This will reset radio presets and some other settings so be aware of this. It may help but it may not.
When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid?

yes i always use my e-brake no matter where i park.
It's automatic and i meant that the car jolts when it shifts from 1st through 4th. I never had this problem when driving the car while its cold so it's pretty noticeable. It sometimes over-revs up to 5,000 rpm before it goes to any gear.
I checked the transmission fluid 3 days ago and it looks good still. It was replaced it 25,000km ago

Maybe a broken mount?

i thought about it. Could it be one of the engine/transmission mounts? I'll have to go to a mechanic and get it checked. Hopefully it's a mount...and not the transmission :(

Good idea. 5k shifts are extremely high.

I'll be going to Midas tomorrow to get it inspected. I hope it's not the transmission breaking down *fingers crossed*
