It might be a good idea to compare the Build Date/Model and the Defects to see if there are date related changes that were made to the car. It will also give everybody a heads up of what might happen to their car according to the build date.

My car is one of the early models and I have exprerienced many defects. Here is my data.

Mazda3 Sport GT
Build Date: 11/03
Glove Box Defect - yes
Air Bag Sensor - yes (fixed at dealership, no problems since)
Rear Sway Bar Noise - yes (dealers says there is nothing wrong?)
Acceleration Hesitation - yes (dealers says there is nothing wrong?)
Air Conditioner - just cool, not really cold, works hard on hot days
Heater - my heater has a faint burning oil type smell

Mazda3 Sport GT
Build Date: 06/04
Glove Box Defect: NO
Air Bag Sensor: NO
Rear Sway Bar Noise: NO
Acceleration Hesitation: NO
Air Conditioner: Just cool, not really cold at all
Heater: NO probs
Brakes: Severe Grooving (Rotors) and Brake Squeaking
Vibrations: Much less at ~2000RPM while in neutral compared to my 05/04 build and I didn\'t even do the ETB grounding mod

Nothing else I can think of...

EDIT: Brake Dust is not too bad. I had the car for a bit over two weeks before its first wash, maybe about 1600 km on it, brake dust was quite mild. It wasn\'t dark on the rims, but obvious if you know what the rim SHOULD look like. :)

It would seem to me that the M3 has some problems with the rear brakes.I noticed scoring on a couple of testers that I took out.

Has anyone heard of a recall yet for this problem?

I know there\'s a trm on it.

Note; If your rear rotors are scored or goughed> DEMAND NEW ROTORS don\'t just let them turn them, because there goes half the life of the rotors.Remind them to fine sand the new ones with emery cloth.I read somewhere where the problem lies in a coating thats on the rotors from the factory and I believe the dealers have been notified of this.
