I just bought a 2010 Mazda3 and the trunk doesn't open withe key fob but does with the key. The light on the fob blinks when pushed but there's no sound from the lock. I didn't see a listing for a fuse for this and all other electrical parts work. A fuse or the lock itself? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Check to see if the white slide switch on the side of the lock has been engaged. Look in the manual about valet mode.

I don't see anything about the valet mode in my manual. My fob has the 4 buttons lock, unlock, trunk and panic. Maybe I should just check and see if the lock solenoid is getting power or not. Does that make sense? I can check for the white switch at the same time. Thanks

Checking power to the trunk lock(solenoid) would then be an appropriate step if you hear no sound when pressing the remote.

Perhaps there is a bad electrical connection to that solenoid.

Yup...bad solenoid. Now to see if I can find a used one.
