I'm (very) slowly piecing a turbo setup and I'm not sure if I need to get a full downpipe from MS3 or do I just need the upper portion? I think I need both, bot not 100% sure as I never seen the full exhaust on MS3 so it's hard to figure this out looking at diagram.

I also have CS CBE with racepipe, so my second cat is gone and I would like to keep it that way. Also I would rather not cut and weld the stainless steel pipe, but I rather do that to stock non SS pieces. From what I understand I will have to do that anyways for sedan to shorten the pipe a bit.

1. Do I need both sections?
2. Can I just get the upper portion and fabricate lower portion without cat if I need both sections?
3. Are gen 1 and 2 downpipes same or is the routing a bit different?

First gen and second gen Downpipes are the same, and both are just plug and play in a 2nd gen sedan so long as you're using a k04.
You'll have to extended the tips of the axle back only

Thx, I'm using k04, so do I need both sections though?

Using the top and bottom will make it complete bolt up. The lower, which includes the cat, if it's not one piece, can be replaced with a race pipe
