Hey guys, long time lurker but I figured it's time to make an account; Especially since I have an issue that I couldn't quite get an answer/solution to.

Long story short. I recently picked up a 2004 3i and I bought an HID kit off ebay (H7 Xentec's, which by the way are pretty garbage. Would DEFINITELY NOT recommend). I set it up like this: one end of the ballast goes into the hid lights (that's a given) while the other end went into a capacitor/anti-flicker device. Other end of the capacitor went into the spade connectors and those spade connectors plugged into the stock wiring harness connector (black to black, red to red/grey on the stock wiring harness). When I reconnected the negative terminal I started up the car and had one side of the HID's turn on (driver). Passenger side didn't turn on. So I thought maybe it's a faulty ballast. Disconnected the passenger side ballast to try on the driver side and same thing; no light.

Here's where it starts going downhill. When I reconnected the driver side ballast (the one working correctly) the HID wouldn't fire it back up like before. And now I have no headlights (re-tried to put back in the stock halogens and now those won't even turn on) so I'm forced to drive with the high beams for the time being (stupid on Mazda's part by the way, it shouldn't have taken 3 years to finally put DRL's in the high beams). I'm really hoping someone here can help a fellow zoom-zoomer find a solution.

Also, the stock wiring harness connector, does that have to be plugged back into the stock mazda headlight adapter in a certain way for polarity purposes? I thought maybe that could've been the culprit but I'm not exactly sure and even with me flipping around the harness connector they refuse to turn on. Last thing I'm trying to do is fry my electrical components.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe the fuse blew. You tried replacing the fuse?
