Dashboard lights and tailights are not turning on!!

So ive been having this situation for a bit now, but ive been having trouble figuring out why my dashboard lights and tailights aren't coming on, i turn it to auto and even when its dark out it still stays the same. Sometimes i notice them come on when once in a blue moon, but i can't figure it out why. The fuses are fine so im not sure what it can be. Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer, I need help guys !

For the tail lights.. have you changed the bulbs?

Year? The car has one fuse that runs both of those together, so are you positive the fuses are ok? The only reason that they wouldn't work at the same time that I could see would be a PJB problem if you're sure it's not the fuses.

Yes i checked the fuses already and the bulbs aren't that old. So im not too sure what it could be, maybe my battery going bad? I dont wanna assume too quickly

They come on when the switch isn't in the auto position? The cars act up when the battery is low on charge, but I also think the PJB is a common culprit for weird electrical issues.

Its a 2004 2.3L btw
