The project for the week was new Kyb struts, stoppers, boots and mounts installed on an old spring. With the help of of some lube, a rented compressor and a hammer the process went relatively easy except for the end result.

When going for a test drive, the right hand side had this scraping noise like metal was contacting other metal very gently. This went on the entire time the car was moving forward. Whenever I'd go on the brakes, it felt like the entire right spring assembly was moving side-to-side, jerking vibrations came from the strut tower and the noise of springs compressing and decompressing filled up the cabin.

After a bit of reading, i'd found another whom had issues with the mount not aligning with the spring giving roughly the same symptoms. Might as well give it a shot. Took out the entire strut and sure enough the mount wasn't exactly aligned (a few mm off). Installed it back in but this did absolutely nothing. Short on time I brought it over to a mechanic who immediately knew the caliper had seized up. $300 dollarydoos later both front rotors and pads were changed and the sound and vibes are completely gone. Alignment was also finished, before and after matched within the tolerance.

What i'm guessing seized up the caliper was when I tried to move the knuckle into the strut. The jack wasn't low enough to pass underneath to the control arm so I lazily jacked up the hub on the rotor. Once enough clearance was made the jack slid under the control arm to push up the knuckle.
