New Oil Change Intervals for 2017 Models

With ongoing advancements Mazda has announced for all 2017 models the new oil change/scheduled service intervals will be every 8,000 kms or 6 months.

This includes the 2016 CX-9.

All other previous model years will still be on the 4 months or 8,000 kms schedule.


This change will help those who don't do a lot of miles on their vehicle.

Interesting! I thought the engines are the same, but I'm not an engineer :)

Any idea if Mazda is going to revise the service intervals for previous models since the engine's are the same? I heard that Mazda may revise the service schedule for the previous models but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Would be nice to not have to change the oil on my 2016 3 every 4 months..

Don't think so. They have a new service schedule for every 6 months or 8k on 2017 models but that's it so far.
