Hey everyone,

I am thinking of either getting my car rustproofed this year or getting a clear bra on. The problem is, I don\'t have the cash to do both. Do you guys think I can skip the rustproofing for my first year and get it done the following year? Would it be that much of a problem? The reason I want the clear bra on is because I already have one stone ship on the hood where the paint has come off, it is slight, but I don\'t want a larger stone chip in the future. Also, I thought Mazda warrants against rust and every new car has its own rustproofing job done before it is sold.

Thanks!

how long u planning on keeping the car? < 5 yrs.. don\'t bother w/ rustproofing.. u\'ll spend 750bux (roughly) over that course.. your car\'s value will go up slightly.. 750bux? i dunno.. and doubt it..

get the bra.. \'only\' 150 bux.. one time and u\'r set.. if u want to cover the plastic parts it\'ll be more b/c the basic bra covers the metal..

the rust warranty is for PERFORATION (holes in the body) if you just have some surface rust, they won\'t cover it..

If you\'re not going to keep your car for more than 3-4 years, no rustproof should be okay. But at least get a underbody coating.
Also, if you do not apply rustproof in the 1st year or when the car is still considered as \"new\", your car may not receive the same rustproof warranty as when it was new.
