I have the 4X MTEC Bulbs.

Here\'s how they look on my car. Note: Foglights are stock. Stock headlights are the same colour as the fogs. I hope this will provide some reference to the colour difference.

tripplezoom:

I\'ve hit my PM limit once again.....

To answer your question, YES, I bought them off of ebay. The seller\'s name was\"mtecpower\"

Here is an auction from this seller (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&tc=photo&item=7935427845&ca tegory=36476), just make sure that you buy AUTHENTIC Mtec ones or you won\'t get the lifetime warrenty.

Thx for the pic Xenon. Im really liking the white on those bulbs. Hopefully it\'ll take off some of the temptation to going hid. Mtec 4x they are then!!

umm.. stock bulbs require 55W.. 100W is surely going to melt the housing.. and from the auction \"CONSUMING 55W --> PRODUCING 100W\" yah.. umm 45W out of nowhere eh? pls tell us how to get free power, all teh engineers are waiting..

PS. i am NOT disputing the fact that it outputs a BRIGHT light but that doesn\'t mean it requires 100W

initially, i was thinking of bidding on the 55W cuz i was really concerned with whole melting the housing issue, but apparently nothings gone wrong for xenon so far? what do you think majic? :(

i\'m not sure.. i\'m no expert on lighting.. i can\'t even find Maruta Technology (MTEC) website and any specs on what this 45/65W = 100/110W means.. maybe MBN knows? :) ?

and now i see u\'r looking into HIDs eh... ;) get those :p i\'s easier to find info on them.. heh..

HID\'s are really tempting. :p It all comes down to spending 30 odd dollars on the bulbs or 400 on the kits. I suppose HID\'s are more reasonable when thinking about long term and performance wise. Bah, i cant decide :( !

Here are some good articles on the \"blue\" bulbs (http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/bulbs.html)

in making 45/65W bulbs \"appear\" as higher wattage, what the manufacturers do is have a tighter wound filament...or an \"overdriven\" filament.

they burn brighter but produce less light from the blue coating on the bulbs. which is also why they don\'t last as long as non-coated bulbs.

in the end, might as well go with an HID kit which puts out more light (better visibility) and lasts longer....spread the initial cost of the HID kit over the life of it and you\'ll see that it is close to, if not cheaper, than buying new blue bulbs every time they blow.

tripplezoom, that is correct. I have had my 100W bulbs in my car for over 2 months now, and have had no problems with melting housings. I do know there is a risk, but thus far, nothing has happened.

I\'ve inspected inside the housing both visually and physically. My housings are in perfect condition.

majic why don\'t you put up those comparison pics we took that night of the different bulbs. The ones showing Xenon, RJ_3 and mine all lined up.
