Yo guys I have a 2010 with the 2.5, I am at 210 000 km now and so far so good, just wondering if you guys heard any issues with the engine ? I still do a lot of driving with it and just wondering, I checked on internet but cannot really find issues so I am asking the Mazda 3 community.

thanks

Nope i have same 2010 2.5 its good as gold, gas mileage is disgusting bad but its great car. Plan on getting a new car in a year. my left control arm needs to be replaced but not going to bother. Just basic oil change and maintenance inspections and servicing.

I have a 2011 2.5L with 215,000. No major issues, basic maintenance, oil changes and serpentine belt. Runs a little louder then before but still solid engine. Still getting 600km from 50L.

I have a 2010 GT with 113,000 km. Engine runs great. Regular oil changes now for the first time using full synthetic. Belts changed, front rotors and pads changed. Trans fluid changed and brakes flushed, battery replaced twice, plugs done.

I noticed that it runs louder too, I remember not hearing the engine when I first got it, now I hear it pretty good lol, little squeaks there and there but yeah still runs good.

Good to know!
I still do around 500 to 600 km with a tank also

I rust proof it every 2-3 years no rush underneath and the only place where I have surface rust is on my trunk but that's all my fault I scratched it with a pair of skis and Didn't treat it

None that I noticed on the paint. It was rustproofed by the dealer. I detailed or got it detailed every year at least once or twice (claybar and wax/sealant). I touched up a minor scratch and touched up any rock chips right away.
I haven't checked in detail this Spring yet.

Nothing like the first gen Mazda 3's anyways. My speed has 174k on it, still looks great. Fiancées 2011 has a bit on the hood and where a bit of bad bodywork was done, but nothing on quarter panels or trunk lid.

I had a 2010 that I sold in July 2016. It was made in January of 2009, so the car was over 7 years old. Zero rust on the car, washed and waxed regularly. Underbody was rusty because it was never rust proofed (was not bad, mind you), but paint was 100%.
