Doing my back brake pads and rotors on my 2014 mazda3.. I've replaced my front ones before on my old car and figured it would not be much different...

I was finally able to compress the caliper piston using the tool from partsource, which by the way was not a perfect fit and at first kept sliding off, but now I can't remove the tool... I keep trying to unscrew it but the piston wont move and so the tool seems to be jammed on....

I'm wondering now if I missed a step.. Was i supposed to remove the parking brake wire, also I see there is a little spring behind the caliper.. what does that do? What about the bleed valve?

Thanks for any help...

So you can't lower the tool to remove it? Take an open ended wrench to the tool and hold that to loosen the tool.

Thanks... Actually I figured it out... It was pretty obvious. Guess the brain just didn't want to work for a bit there..

Hey... Would anyone know the torque specks? I tighter the caliper mounting bracket bolts to around 60 lbs (w/ locktight) and the caliper pin bolts to around 20 lbs...

Thanks...

I bought this tool and it worked just fine

Why would you take all the wires off?
