I am looking into getting my windows tinted. I got a price at Tint King for $220 plus for all windows regardless of the tint percentage. I like 5% at the rear and rear sides, 20% for the front. I was at the last meet of the year and I noticed quite a few cars had tints. If anyone give me some locations that have better prices that would be great. Also one 3 owner had 15% tints. Don\'t remeber who it was, but if you are reading this please reply. Anywho see you all at the next meet. :p

Check the reviews section. FX auto is where most people got theirs done. I got mine done at the detailing shop.

yeah.. just check out FX AUTO (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=16) they\'ve been awesome..
i forget how much they charge but it is roughly $200-250
also.. just FYI (and u may already know anwyay) 20% is illegal on the fronts in ontario.. the unwritten legal limit is 35%.. rears can be whatever u wish..
also, different tints look different (better/worse) on hatches and sedans.. ie. i got my tint uniform all around

Hi all,
First time poster and by the way great forum you guys have here.
I just got my windows tinted over the weekend and it only cost me $160 cash. I got the front two windows at 35% and all the rest at 5%. It looks sweet!
If your in the Toronto Area, I went to a tint and detailing shop on Rexdale Blvd. East of highway 27. Right next to the Leggat Chev Olds dealership. They did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone.

What\'s their warranty on the film (against bubbling and fading)?

Lifetime warranty.
They also do the clear bra\'s too. He quoted me for the clear bra for only the hood section $90. He said that there is a kit you can buy that covers the bumpers, hood, quarter panels and mirrors for $275.
I would have gotten the clear bra for the hood done when I was getting the tints done. But I have to take the car back to the dealer to check out the paint job on my hood. It looks like there was a factory error with the painting of the hood. There looks like another colour was splashed on the hood before the clear coat was added. Very strange...
All in all they did a great job and it looks SWEET. When I get the car washed (damn snow) I will post some pics.

Just an FYI...
There is NO legal \'limit\' for tint according to the HTA in Ontario.
Accodring to the HTA, any covering on the front two windows and front windshield is illegal. The back seats and rear windhield can be as dark as completey blacked out.
This is for an officers safety. An officer at any time of the day or night has to be able to idnetify the sex of the front two occupants of the vehicle. Where this gets tricky is time of day and weather. While a person can be visible durring the day, he may not be durring the evening or when cloudy.
Mirrior tint is 100% illegal.
Two of our members of TOProtege are GTA Officers and broke down the HTA into laymans terms for us. They also listed \'loop holes\' that officers use for tickets as well as loop holes for us as drivers. I cant find it right now...lol

^^^ That\'s true, there is no set amount in the HTA.
If you feel like a little \"light reading\", here\'s the HTA (http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/DBLaws/Statutes/English/90h08_e.htm).

As an Officer of TOProtege, that would be fine, but, please cite where the information came from (maybe with a link to \'www.toprotege.com\' or somthing)

I would expect that if this information is being used on this site, that it would be acknowleged where the information came from. It looks like this took sometime to put together and would be very useful to any car owner.

Here\'s a fun fact from HTA:
Sleigh bells
77. (1) Every person travelling on a highway with a sleigh or sled drawn by a horse or other animal shall have at least two bells attached to the harness or to the sleigh or sled in such a manner as to give ample warning sound. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 77 (1).

Sure I will try and take some photos tonight (thats if you haven\'t bought tints yet). Just one thing, my car isn\'t that clean right now... LOL But you will get the idea.
I actually bought my 3 from Brampton Mazda. I know of this tint place because they lease the space from my wifes aunt. :D
how do u guys tint ur car? do guys usually tint the same percentage all around? or dark at the back and lighter at teh front? which is most recommended?

depends what you like.. i went with 30% all around (check link in my sig) and i love the uniform look :)
The uniform look is the way to go. Otherwise it looks like an SUV. :D
I have 35% all round and I regret not getting 20%. Didn\'t want 30% because it wasn\'t fully metallic.
can u guys post pics of the windows tinted? because i wanna get an idea what it looks like. I just bought my mz3 yesterday and i asked for the darker tint all around (uniform) but the guy was like the police is gonna give u shit cuz they cant see you.. I was like fine and he suggested light tint at the front and dark at the back..i kinda had a feelling tha it didnt really look good like that.

it could be because you may not have sigs enabled :p
go to my home (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/myhome.php) and click \'board settings\', the 3rd pulldown menu says \'Do you wish to view members signatures when reading threads?\' change it to yes and you should see sigs.. voila :)

If you noticed on this last photo I also have installed the Bumoper guards. These are great to protect the bumper from scratches. I play hockey, so putting my hockey bag in the back all the time tends to add small scratches to the bumper. They are cheap and available from the Dealer. I think they are around $25.
