Hello,

I purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 sedan earlier this year and soon after, a mechanic changed my rear stabilizer links and the rear left shock. Recently, my front struts started leaking, so I changed those myself. But now, when I drive over bumps (even the slightest crack in the road), it sounds like something at the back of the car is loose and it makes a lot of noise.

I'm wondering if it's possible that the stabilizer links got loose and how I can check that. If there are any other suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks very much for the help.

This could be a few things. #1, the nut that tightens the rear strut rod to the mount could be loose. I had this happen to me and had to apply loctite blue to it to keep it from backing off. If you're good, you can access the tops of the struts by peeling back the rear trunk liner, rather than removing the struts.

Stabilizer bar links are easy to check for loose fasteners; crawl underneath with your wrench and try to give 'em a twist!
