do you know WHY this is so?

because, a few hundred years ago, women would have the maid dress them while men would dress themselves. so everything for a woman would have to be on the \"other\" side for the mainly right-handed maids.

did you know why it is \"good etiquette\" for a man walk on the street/curb side of the sidewalk when walking with a woman? a few hundred years back in britain, people didn\'t have a sewage system so they would put their \"waste\" in a pail/pan and throw it out their window. the places had overhangs below the window for the waste to slide onto the road. hence the woman would walk under the overhang and the man would, literally, get splashed with shit.

Even though the world now has indoor plumbing i still walk that way with ladies. There is still the danger of cars splashing you as they drive by. I\'ve taken many a splash in the name of protecting women.

Go ahead.. call me old fashioned...... I don;t care. i\'ll still hold open doors for women. Although the invention of power locks has pretty much killed the practice of opening the car door for them. :(

Yup, and you\'re supposed to eat it. Meanwhile play-doh (not supposed to be eaten) is mainly made from flour.

carnauba wax (http://www.cpma.ca/FoodSafety/en/coatings.html) is safe (http://www.wholefoods.com/healthinfo/carnaubawax.html) and shouldn\'t be considered scary (http://www.snopes.com/toxins/noodles.htm)

Waxes are indigestible and will pass through the body without breaking down or being absorbed. If you chose not to eat a protective coating, even though it is safe to do so, buy unwaxed produce at farmers markets or peel the fruit or vegetable. Wax is not water-soluble and does not wash off. Waxes may turn white on the surface of produce if they have been subjected to excessive heat and/or moisture. This affects only the appearance of the produce; it does not affect the quality or food safety.

and leave it to americans to spell carnauba incorrectly on a commercially available toothpaste bottle. :sarc

thanks for debunking that one MBN. Besides, I think the car kind is made from a petroleum distillate. Now, how about all the other stuff in the bottle? ;) j/k

Did you know that JELL-O is made from bones and hides?

JELL-O is made from gelatin, an animal product rendered from the hides and bones of animals.

The production of gelatin starts with the boiling of bones, skins, and hides of cows and pigs, a process that releases the protein-rich collagen from animal tissues. The collagen is boiled and filtered numerous times, dried, and ground to a powder. Because the collagen is processed extensively, the final product is not categorized as a meat or animal product by the federal government. Very strict vegetarians avoid gelatin entirely, but more permissive vegetarians have no problem including JELL-O in their diets.
