Hey folks,

After spending the time, ripping apart the center console and the center dash for my iPod install, I noticed that under the vents up top where a lot of folks are putting their PIE interface box, there is also space enough for those 407 ETR transponders.

Well, today I figured I\'d try it. At worst, it wouldn\'t work. At best, I\'d have a transponder in the car that is completely invisible. Put it under the vents, went for a drive on the 407. Upon exiting, sure enough, the *beeps* from the transponder, indicating that indeed the transponder was being picked up from beneath the vent cover.

Anyone else try this?

I keep mine in the ashtray area... it\'s totally concealed there, beeps every time.

I just find that it\'s too much in the field of view, usually I\'d put it right behind the RV mirror, but with the rain sensor there, It ennds up being too low for my liking.

Not to mention that I don\'t like sticky stuff on my window. And I don\'t use the ETR enough to have it stuck there anyways.

Is this that part right on top of the dash where the USDM have their GSP monitors?
or deeper within the dash?

That\'s it, there\'s a lot of room up there.
