Hi Guys,

I have Mazda 3 GX 2016 model currently at around 55,000 Kms. I have been told by Mazda that I would need Rear Break Pads and Rotors replaced. They quoted me around $585 before tax, another dealer quoted around $640 before tax. Apparently, the quote includes 2.5 hours of service @ $150 per hour which is around $375.

Can I do this somewhere else cheaply and safely. Should I use genuine Mazda parts or would OEM workout as good? Is it normal to pay 585 to 640 for only rear pads and rotors?

What is the usual installation charge outside of dealerships and what shop would you recommend in scarborough, markham area?

Thank you for your help.

do it yourself, save the labour cost or buy the oem pads and rotors and take it to Jimmys.

Look at Mazda rotors and third party pads. Or get a quality kit from a shop like Maxbrakes.
Have installation done at a third party shop, street performance/Jimmy is always a solid option.
Also remember if you have tm3 plate covers or decals you can get the club discount from our affiliate dealerships.
