I have watched a few youtube videos and it appears some have struggled to remove the housing bracket for the battery.

Nothing much was mentioned on using a battery tender or something like an AC battery charger or how to use to preserve your infotainment settings and preventing your ECU, PCM from "re-learning". Also, the size of the socket or wrench never was mentioned too.

Since I got no responses, I thought I would provide an update for archival purposes.

I went to the dealer and the dealer was nice enough to install the Costco battery without charge during my regularly scheduled service.

What the tech told me is the more recent models of Mazda3s (we only talked about my model) have a very short "memory buffer". You have to be quick, but if you disconnect the battery and replaced it with a new one, not only will you keep all your idle ECU settings, but radio settings too. The tech also warmed me to avoid those OBDII battery savers unless you buy from a reputable source like SnapOn as it can **** things up.
