24000km service

Does anyone have experience with a 24k service on their mazda3? I got a quote from the dealership that it is going to cost $180, which includes oil change, fluid/brake inspection, tire rotation/balancing and lubrication of locks/hinges. For the 16k I did all of the above except tire rotation/balancing and it only costed $80. So I am really curious as to why it costs $100 more to do tire rotation/balancing.

I don\'t believe in their service packages b/c they cost a lot and don\'t do anything.

What I do:

Oil+Filter - 4000-5000kms
Tire Rotation - 15000-20000kms
Coolant Flush + Brakes Inspection (usually means replacing pads and machining rotors and a handbrake adjustment) - 40000kms
Spark Plugs + tranny Flush (if AT) - 480000

I wish there would be a dealership the prominently displays what services are done at what interval and at what price. Richmond Hill Toyota was great with this, you\'d drive into the service area and on the wall to your right were huge signs with this information.

may be it under the same roof, Richmond HIll Honda also has a huge board for what they done for each interval.

but I doubt that there is a big difference between 16K and 24K services, Flip may help us to verify the price.

I had my 24000K service done about 3 weeks ago.

Cost a little over $230 with the TM3 discount at Westowne Mazda.

It\'s a major one. Hence the high price.

I had mine done yesterday and it cost just under $160 taxes in....That included the typical lube, oil and filter, plus the brake service...It\'s annoying how prices vary from dealer to dealer...You think it would be pretty standard across the board since they all should be doing the same work...

I believe i did see some type of sign at Westowne. I don\'t know if Xenon can vouch for this since he was there recently. But I seem to remember some type of sign at Westowne listing all the services done at each interval.
