would the good increase/decrease anything? maybe increase HP with a short ram intake or is it just like that for style?

Its for style.

Now people are gonna say it aids in cooling or lowers the engine bay temperature or whatever, and althought it may, youll likely have to get out a super duper thermomoter to see any difference...
