Has anyone noticed that most facial tissue is softer than toilet paper? Does anyone \"feel\" that there is something wrong with that?

Also, how the hell do use a bidet? Why not combine the two like those hi-tech toilets in Japan? I mean you have to get up off of a comfortable \"seat\", waddle over to something that doesn\'t have a seat to have water shot up your butt. What if you have to make another \"deposit\"? You sure as hell can\'t use the bidet! You\'re forced to waddle back to the toilet with your underwear down by your ankles which you hopefully don\'t trip over.

for more usage tips and a how to refer here (http://www.ehow.com/how_13097_bidet.html) :D

bidets are fairly common in europe. when our house was being built, my parents asked to move the wall a bit to accomodate a bidet.

Screen cap from ... porn? hahaha

On the topic of holes in the floor as toilets, I grabbed this while in HK since it was the first time I saw one in real life;

EDIT: as for bluntman\'s original pondering question... my guess is that TP becoming that soft, it will rip apart much too easily. Tissue is soft but has a tougher \"knit\" to keep it together but that same \"knit\" cannot be used on TP as it has to be able to \"disintegrate\" when flushed. Thus TP can only be soft up to a certain point while Tissue can be much softer (oh no, i forgot my thesis statement!)

Whoa! I have a problem with that stall...there isn\'t enough room to spread you feet apart so you don\'t end up wizzing on your shoes...especially if you\'re drunk!

You really gotta aim well. Not just #1 but even #2.

Not sure if it\'s to do with the softness or texture, but if you\'ve ever tried substituting facial tissue for toilet paper - it blocks the toilet really easily when you try to flush it.

Paper towels too. ;)

I\'d have no idea... I didn\'t bother trying that kinda stall for #2... I did a #1 by just standing there and aiming into it hahaha...

For those who know how dirty some HK public toilets are... and when you have to do a #2 RIGHT THEN AND THERE... my thighs got a good work out, two different times. :D

EDIT: Another tip for those of you thinking to go back and haven\'t been to HK before; bring tissue wherever you go... especially to public washrooms! Tissue packs are a necessary commodity! I\'m surprised the vendors don\'t sell them at higher prices haha...

For that many years in HK I could only recall I had a #2 ONCE at a public toilet.... I would rather hold onto it until I got home :sarc

One good thing about that kinda toilet is, you don\'t have to worry about the unsanity toilet seat... cuz it doesn\'t have one.

Another reason... if you go to restaurants, most of them don\'t provide napkins....

#2 means sitting right? Seriously, no one have ever really pointed it out to me.

Yeah, #2 is sitting, or squatting, or \"dropping the kids off at the pool\"

Yup, #2 is sitting (for most men). Cantonese speakers will also recognize OS (as opposed to OL or #1). :D

Yup, a lot of eateries (?) do not provide tissue or napkins, save for higher end places (probable).

as i was reading this thread .. i was goin to say that the pic of the hole in the ground ain\'t so bad cus atleast u have TP but then u guys beat me to it ...... I guess we\'ve all been there and done that blah blah blah .... and damn it!! HK is a concrete cement city ..can\'t even find a leaf to u know what if u needed ..

tissue paks are good for that .. not to mention u need it for the constant sweating cus it like 98% humidity at like 35 degrees

In India (well 12 years ago when I was last there) the standard toilet was the hole in the ground even in residences. As for public toilets ... you can\'t get more public than the side of the road.:D
