( paint, fabric and rust undercoating )
and the dealer told me NOT to wax my car because i have
paint protection.
does anyone else have paint protection and was told the same?
or should i wax any ways despite what i was told?

You can still wax your car even though you\'ve got the paint protection, after all the paint protection is only wax anyways.

so have you waxed your car?
and if so, did you tell the dealer and what did he say bout it?

*for every one* what exactly is \"paint protection\"?

paint protection is a layer of something ontop of the clear coat that protects from years of wind damgage bird crap etc

is the paint protection an extra worth getting?
i mean.. should i have just invested in some good wax instead?

so whats the paint protection made of?
is it sprayed on, or is it like a wax?

I\'d put on clear-bra and do regular car-wash and waxing instead.

it\'s a bottle of wax...probably like Liquid Lustre (who remembers those infomercials :hoho )

it\'s applied like regular wax ....better to just wax your car twice a year.

Among paint protection, fabric protection and rust undercoating, which of these is the most important? How much will it cost? I think I can spray some scotch guard myself.

i would say rust undercoating
but some prefer to do it yearly

How long do you guys think I should wait to wax my car? I just got it 2 days ago on Friday. I didn\'t go for the factory paint protection, I\'ll be getting the clear bra with tint from fx auto and perhaps the rust protection as well.

If yuou buy a wax that says \"Clear Coat Safe\" You should be alright. Just make sure that you stick with name brand waxes. Meguires, Mother, Turutle Wax etc. Other waxes may not be formulated properly to protect your paaint.

and just one other thing... I wouldn\'t trust those spray on waxes. They might work, but they won\'t give you as good of a result as buff waxes would.

I\'m actually going to use the 3 step meguiar\'s wax after I give it a quick wash with mr. clean autodry.

I\'m a huge fan of the 3 step from Meguiar\'s. It\'s great for swirl marks as well, My bro did my cousin\'s Subaru this weekend and took 90% of the swirls out of his blue paint. Plus who can argue when your car turns out like this:
