I know of a friend of a friend of a friend of a buddy of a friend who used a blowdryer and a baseball bat to slowly bend back the inner fender lip to make wheels fit.

I\'ve always wondered - why don\'t the cars come rolled from the factory? Is there any advantage in having the lip not fully bent around?

Good question stated above! Maybe it could be a debris clearing issue for the general car buyer. The true car guy who washes his ride with a lambskin and sheep fur mit and powerwasher will get into the crevices and make sure mud, dirt and grim don\'t build up anywhere.

I love how most BMW\'s, AUDi\'s have that flush tire/rim to the bulging fenders look and have the chasis lowered to the wheelwells. The ghetto way too can be effective when done right with hairdryer so the paint won\'t crack. It\'s the rental of the official and proper tool which is rare to find and maybe expensive from a rim/tire & wheel shop.

The TPC Boyz were thinking of doing a Group Fender Rolling meet so that way it can be maximized and in the future when one wanted to add spacers, huge offset rims, tires and be lowered the job would already be done.

I\'ve been searching around the Toronto and surround areas as far north as Barrie and I have yet to find a shop that carries a fender rolling tool. Most shops just use the baseball bat and carry no warranty. The best place I could find is Collision Networks for $40 per car, again they use the baseball bat, no warranty.


In case people are wondering why cars don\'t come from the factory with rolled fenders there are 2 reasons.
1. They think the stock wheels are so damn sexy why would you want to change them.
2. It adds to the cost of the vehicle.
3. You are charging for a service that less than 5% of the total buyers will actually use.

Wow. I never knew how to do that, or what consisted of fender rolling. I thought I had to take out the damn wheel well and somehow extend it.
