So I get dragged out to the Mall to purchase some jeans yesterday by request of one of the g.f\'s. I\'m in my closet trying to size up my most comfortable pair of regular casual slacks, dress pants to get an idea of my current sizing. 38-40ish Waist, 34ish-36ish Inseam with a relaxed free flowing fit, worn at my waist with a belt. Most of the times I\'m in a casual boot, preppy shoe

To my horror it seemed I had a hard time looking for the look and fit I wanted at some pretty trendy stores of which I won\'t mention. 6\'2\"-240lbs tall athletic build quite a few younger sales reps told me that there has been a Europeanized trend, cut or styling geared toward the slender frame and girth. Even the sizing seems to top out at 38W and inseams stop at 32. They even admit at losing out on business in certain demographics and ethnicities because bigger men have to go elsewhere cause they stock what sells most. I tried on numerous pairs but the thigh, and pelvic area of those jeans were ***got-tight even in the relaxed fit version.

Ended up going to a more Urban and Hip-Hoppish store; what a friggin difference? Now don\'t get me wrong, I\'m not down with the ultra-trendy styles that will last for a day with the colour schemes, big labels shown; but there were some plain styles and colours that would stand the test of time. I was told that Black Designers or Urban-oriented design names and shops had jeans that were cut and assembled different to fit.

Shopping proved difficult in the pricing department though. The average was over a $120 for a good pair. Keep in mind this was a mall and I hadn\'t done my homework. I may have to go to Detroit, Buffalo, Downtown Toronto, GTA FleaMarkets or visit the Jamaica Part of Eglington to hit up the stores who have the N.Y. Urban imported jeans, Rocawear,Sean Jeam, Enyce,Pepe,Phat Pharm, JohnnyBlaze, Davoucci etc.

Does anyone here have problem in sizing and finding fashionable jeans? What stores or outlets do you go too? What are good places without draining the bank account? What about some of the more bigger guys in the Cruiser & HeavyWeight division with the
athletic frames, bigger bones etc.

Personally, I don\'t buy any designer jeans. I strictly buy Old Navy jeans, I don\'t care what people think about the jeans that I wear, I\'d rather spend the money on a nice shirt (Burberry, Lacoste, whatever). Typically, for $35 a pair of jeans you can\'t go wrong.

The funny thing too is that I suggested OLD NAVY too, cause that is where I purchase my casual slacks mostly and the prices are amazing. But with her money to blow she didn\'t want to hear my gripes. With my ghetto dollar earned, I\'m gonna get more value and multiple items for it.

I too could care less about the brand of jeans, but I do want them to look good. Having said that, I have had great success with a brand called Blue Notes, and I think they are even sold in a store called Blue Notes. Pricing is reasonable at around $70-$90 per pair when not on sale, tons of different styles and fits, and most importantly, they always have my size (same as yours at a 38-40 waist and 32-34 length).

Good luck.

Go to winners and get the designer jeans( R&L/TH/KCOLE/....) at rock bottom price. Old navy jeans are POS..Depending upon your taste and wallet thickness, you can try 4YOU ( Vaughan Mills/Yorkdale) or URBAN BEHAVIOUR. They got some nice cloth there.

Thanks for the tip guys. I will remember Blue Notes jeans were awesome for me. Si-Vous Play Sports off of Steeles pazt Finch. I know where that is. It\'s not so much my desire for designer names, it is the cut and fit that I find hard to find.

There seems to be a tight ass Calvin Klien model thin that doesn\'t jive with the bigger boys. And I find it wierd that any set size of Waist & Length can fit differently from one brand to another. And like most men I hate fitting jeans. I usually have to take at least 5 pairs or the maximum allowed to a changing room for efficiency. I hate it when I just put on one pant leg and I know it won\'t fit.:(

If you don\'t care about brand and just going for comfort and savings, I buy my jeans at bootleggers, or Urban Planet Dixie mall

I usually go to Maxx\'s \"I think that\'s how it\'s spelt\". It located at the corner of Pape & Queen downtown. They have a great selection of jeans along with dress pants and tops... most importantly the prices are great.
