So I was all excited to be going on vacation to Vancouver March 21, 2005. My friend who I am travelling with for vacation called me this morning to tell me that JETSGO has gone bankrupt.:( Of course this is the airline we have booked to go away. I have been told that if you booked online through JETSGO you are SOL, if you went through a travel agency you are okay. And of course I went through the website to book!!:sarc :sarc Not a good way to start a Friday!!!:p Only getting side sill and oval marker will make my day better!!!! (Majic) :D :) :p :D

jimdragon8, you\'re one deranged dude if a couple of washers and several pieces of stamped metal make you feel better... :p
Sorry to hear about the situation. Way to strand you and thousands of other families for March break!

I say the whole thing was a scham......isn\'t it convenient how they took everyones money on the cusp of one of the busiest travel times of the year and shut down just in time to not honour any of the flights:sarc
On a side note, apparently WestJets stocks have gone up 40% today.

Psivic, it\'s funny you mentioned that, my manager at work said that they do this because it is revenue for them without the expenses. They have collected the money from the ticket sales, but since they are not flying don\'t have the expenses. This way their executives walk away with some money!!! Bunch of no good execs, obviously not really caring for anyone but themselves!!
Whos ur dadd, when you start your Friday realizing your vacation is gone down the drain, anything helps.:D

jimdragon, check out this link to see if WestJet can help you (http://www2.ccnmatthews.com/scripts/dnrp/release.asp?d=/cnrpxml/2005/3/11/261628_1_0311200520639AM.xml&t=WJA)
Canada3000 did a similar thing when they shut down and, wouldn\'t you know it, one of the guys that ran Canada3000 (M.LeBlanc i think) was also the CEO of JetsGo.

If you booked online using a credit card (what else) you may be able to get reimbursed for the ticket. I know Mastercard has some kind of policy when it comes to these types of situations, so I would recommend checking with them.
My friends and I were going to go to Vegas... They booked with Jetsgo, I still didn\'t... For once i\'m glad I procrastinate.

He\'s also the same guy that ran Royal into the ground. I know a lot of guys here in the air force that have refused to fly Jetsgo for a very long time!

ok... here is your update frm the TD VISA kid...
We will reimburse you if you paid with a credit card.... Basically it\'s called non receipt of Goods. Jetsgo has only cancelled their flights and has ot declaired bankruptcy yet. Please call your Credit card institution asap on the 21st of March or if your flight has already been declaired cancelled. And basically we can fight that charge for you...
Sounds good?:D

Thanks Saphress,
I used PC Mastercard and they said once I see the transaction on my statement I can dispute it. Will I get all the money back or just a percentage? This is such a hassle, including rescheduling my vacation:(

When you dispute the claims as non receipt of goods, you will get your money back. 100%.... Read you Cardholder agreement form for PC mastercard. I think they just sent those out last month.... Just in case, but when you dispute the charge for non receipt, you should get all of your money back.

Thanks Saphress, if I book for the date we want to go, it will be way more expensive because my friend who worked at Jetsgo got a major discount on tickets so it may be Florida in May now. Getting ready for the golf season!!!
Can\'t believe that the Jetsgo employess couldn\'t cash their cheques either.:( Talk about adding salt to the wound!!!!!:sarc
