Of the two I would have to say the Subaru......they are a much more reliable car, the 2.5 is still a peppy motor, and I have faith that they will be in Canada for years to come, whereas with Mitsu I have my doubts. As was stated in the other post, there are way more parts for the scooby than there are for the mitsu.

So that\'s you\'re 3 at Eastside Chev? Go with the Subi I\'ll give you a good deal on accesories.
My condolances to your car. You gotta tell us what happened????
This is too crazy... 80% of the accidents our members have had are with Winning Blue 3s!!!!! :(
EDIT: I was gonna say Mazda should recall Winning Blue Mazda3s. :D
Dude, that\'s one huge traffic light that took out your windshield, roof, AND front bumper

Bad drivers by instinct gravitate to the Winning Blues. It\'s called natural selection.
:D
I saw a winning blue sedan in Markham the other day. It was sparkly clean - very nice!
i dont think illl get another 3... just my opinion i dont really like ... and also.. i think i was crashin towards a traffic light at about 80km/h.. n my AIRBAG didnt even come out.. and then we called our dealer and ask.. they said the airbags will only come out if i go faster.. wtf???? 80km is not fast enough??
well anyways.. that day i dunno why i was so tired then all of a sudden.. my eyes closed n i fell asleep n i didnt even kno.. when i wake up.. this huge ass traffic light was on top of my car.. :sarc but fortunately no1 was involved except for me.
i did manage to save my 6000k xtec.. and my all seaon floor mats.. and my suzuki stubby..
if anyone is interest in anything.. pm me

hey allLooks01,
I\'m glad you are okay, but I am also glad you aren\'t getting another Mazda3. The last thing I need is for you to fall asleep again while driving 80km/h and wreck another Mazda3. Then my insurance is going to come after me next year when I renew it and raise the rates on me again like they did this year, claiming that my car was in more accidents...
I hope the 15HP extra from your exhaust tip didn\'t have anything to do with this...
http://www.geocities.com/al01_al01/e7.jpg
EDIT: Enjoy your new Subaru...hopefully you won\'t help to raise their insurance rates either...which are really high already.

Seems both of you aren\'t thinking straight (I won\'t even go there with falling asleep at the wheel);
Compare YOUR car, supposedly 80km/h hitting a lamp post;
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/wtom/Mazda3FrontalCollisionB.jpg
With my car, going about 5km/h and getting hit head on by another car at least 60km/h towards me;
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/wtom/Mazda3FrontalCollision.jpg
Of course your airbags won\'t go off! The sensor isn\'t even tickled!!! If your car isn\'t a write off, be happy the air bag did not go off. That alone is a few grand!

Hey man, it was an accident. It wasn\'t like he was street racing. I\'m sure he\'s paying a young punk premium (:p I was there once) and is going to pay for this for the next several years too. Your premium ain\'t going up anytime soon because of this one accident. If you wanna buy a car which doesn\'t attract the youngins (which may or may not lead to increased claims), go buy a Buick Allure. :sarc

i feel for you, but don\'t blame the car. in all likelihood, the car saved you from dying that night.
the airbags didn\'t go off because the sensors were not triggered. it takes a number of input parameters to set off the sensor. you think you were going 80 but you said you fell asleep. you could\'ve been going 50 when it crashed

if you fell asleep, maybe it\'s lucky the airbags didn\'t go off. the force of an exploding airbag hitting a hanging head could\'ve snapped your neck.
next time, pull over when you\'re tired...is it really worth it to risk it again?

I didn\'t know that; hope you\'re okay. MZ3 has a great frontal impact rating. Guess you\'re living proof of that?

Falling asleep at the wheel is just plain dumb and can be avoided. What he hit a bus shelter full of people? Would it just be an \"hey man, it was an accident\" then? What if your wife and kids were in that bus shelter?

i gotta side with Red.... I hope HIS rates go up, and not mine. It was purely his own fault, and it was stupid, and senseless. Accidents happen, but no need for falling asleep at the wheel.

I work late. I\'m tired, but don\'t think anything of it. I get in the car. I get into an accident. That\'s life man. Sometimes $hit happens. In hindsight, it was stupid.
If my wife and kids were in that bus shelter, I\'d cry for days. Then I\'d get angry... and then go thru whatever stage is supposed to happen next.
My point is that people make mistakes. When you\'re young (I think al01\'s 18 or something), you make even more mistakes. If you don\'t appreciate al01\'s actions, he could use it as a learning experience and you can tell him so in a positive way. Or, you can, as you did, make a sarcastic and condescending comment to teach him in a negative way. Not my \"parenting\" style... but then again, I shouldn\'t impose my parenting style on you.
If you\'ve never made a mistake in your life, you can make your preachy comments. People in glass houses....

I dont consider endangering innocent people\'s live as a learning experience... but hey if you do, good on ya!:D
I guess if his car plowed into you and landed you in a wheelchair for the rest of your life, you would suck it up and deal, I mean he had to learn somehow. And you would be nice and peachy of course, and parent him accordingly.:sarc

i would go as far as compare and equate driving \'tired\' to driving \'drunk\'.. your senses are off.. perception changes.. you don\'t react as fast etc etc..

honestly i don\'t think you can say what you WOULD or WOULDN\'T do.. a loss of life is one of the greater tragedies in anyone\'s life. it\'s really hard to speculate how you will react in that situation. just the instant shock you go through can kill you - literally!!! mental and emotional scarring.. and so on.

completely.. everyone makes mistakes, this is why graduated licencing was introduced to curb accidents and fatalities of the young drivers as well as their victims.

anyway.. al01, i hope you learned your lesson. it\'s not worth getting home 1hr ealry or so. i remember one time driving from ottawa to toronto, i got really tired and i just took the next exit and parked in the MDs parking lot and slept for an hour, just be glad you don\'t have major injuries and pull over have a nap, go for a walk, get some coffee/coke/redbull/bawls..
too bad another WB 3 is gone.
ps. ugh i should have waited with my xtec order.. :p just put it in the other day *sigh* coulda taken yours off your hands..

So you need me to say I dont street race for you to admit your wrong? I would like to think you know when you are wrong, but if you need a reality check, no, I dont street race. In fact, the only time I do more than 20KMh over is on the highway, and it usually isnt more. If it is, there is no one on the road in sight, and I am the only one in the car.

Ok...I\'m starting to think that somehow this forum is cursed. I mean the last time I\'ve seen pictures like this is when they brought that car around to high schools to tell kids not to drive drunk!
AL01 did your accident happen in the city? Oh, and I agree go with a nice slow four door to lower your rates. Maybe a Smart Car? ;)
