anybody else had a problem with theirs?
i\'ve only had the car for less than 2 weeks and just found out that the button to recirculate air is not working. havent called the dealership yet.
YES me too! i wanted to test it cause there was a skunk outside and it wouldn\'t go on. Not like its a super important feature or anything, its good when driving through construction and dusty areas, and also for bad outside smells . . . but otherwise i forget I have it and don\'t even turn it on when I should. Anyways, lol after rambling, it sucks when a brand new car has something that doesn\'t work. I\'m gonna call westowne soon and ask them about it . . . Good post i\'m glad to know its happening in your 3 as well . . .

What do u mean it won\'t go on?
The recirculate air switch will only go on if AC is on (probably a safety feature)... Personally I\'ve never had a chance of testing it. When you say that it won\'t go on, do you mean that the light won\'t switch to recirculate, or the light is on recirculate, but it is not blocking out the external air?
OK thats right . . . its only for when AC is on :p . But really? its not a feature for heat or even when you don\'t have anything on? Its the winter haha, and just testing everything while its still new. So i\'ll have to test it with the AC on . . . thanks!

Re-circulate is disabled when you have the dial set to defrost, set it to floor, or any other setting to the left of the floor setting.

idreamofmazda....i\'ll try that.
i read thru the manual and i dont think theres anything that said it will only turn on with ac or in certain vent positions.
me too am not too concerned coz i don\'t use it...it\'s just a brand new car with someting not working or it could be just user error.

In my 6 it only works when you select the floor or front vents.......A/C or heat has no bearing whatsoever.

The recirculate feature turns itself off if any air is directed to the windshield. Yes, it is a safety feature, it is so that the windshield does not fog up from the humid air inside the car being blown back directly onto the windshield.
