Just wondering if anyone else has come across this???
I was giving my 3 a wash yesterday and as I was buffing out the polish I noticed on a couple of areas what appears to be rust coloured stains the size of a pen tip that are under the clear coat.

Now I\'m a little concerned because rust is a major issue with any car.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify this problem??

I have also noticed very small orange color spots on my car. Not sure what they are though.
I do not think they are \"rust spots\". I would like to know what they are.

Oh... that\'s scary.... I guess I should give my car a good scrub and check this out. Considering the fact that ... well I\'m told Mazda\'s used to be known for rust ages and ages ago, and that was the only concern with the car before my purchase :(

rail dust from being transported.

use a clay bar and see if that takes it off.

Those \"dusty spots\" are called paint contamination and they can be removed by clay bar. I couldn\'t believe a clay bar can remove paint contamination until I experienced it. ;) Amazing

There were a few marks on my bumper that appeared to have came from someone using a blue ballpoint pen and going over it multiple times...seriously...who would do that to a car? :sarc Fortunately after using a clay bar and wax the marks and scratches were all gone.

I have a zaino clay bar, I\'ll give that a try and let you know my findings...

Thanks for the heads up,

The paint stains are from the plastic guard that thay put on the car when transporting. The way to fix this is take it to the dealer and they will use a 1000Watt heat gun to dry it. What it is, is moisture trapped under the clear coat. The heat will cause it to evaporate. This mainly happens to cars that are purchased in the colder months. Most cars that sit in the sun (during the summer) do not have this.

There is a service bulletin about this with instructions on how to fix it. Call your local dealership.

I had this happen to my car and took it into the dealership and had it fixed.

Good Luck!

Do they need to dry the whole car then? I have those everywhere... and I picked up my car in May.

No they only dry over the spots. So they might need it for a few hours if it is all over the car.
