smoked taillights?

what do you guys think about spraying my tail lights so they have a \\\'smoky\\\' look. With them being the gs tails, and red, would it even show up? I think it might look a bit darker, which would look good . . . but i can\\\'t picture it. I\\\'d use similar spray like MK used here (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=1064)

A forum member over at M3F did this to his red tail lights and for some reason they ended up looking brown. Here\'s (http://www.mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=12767) the thread, but he took down the photos of the finished project.

ew ya poor guy . . . he still has the pics before he put them back in . . . i no likey at all

so now im thinking of lamin-x smoked film, but still kinda iffy about this as well as they don\'t offer a 3 tail kit, and i\'m so sure if i cut it myself, i wouldn\'t get it perfect and id end up looking really bad and id be mad :p

maybe someone knows anything about this? i\'ve searched through M3F as well and couldn\'t find anything really there about this . . . i\'m not sure but do tinting places do this kinda stuff, maybe FX auto?

another guy did it to a green Base and it looks good, didn\'t pay much attention so it may not be as good as I thought. Not sure bout where the thread is I think it was under exterior mods and he says something about his 4 latest mods or something.

The guy posts often though and might have a link in his sig. If I come across it, ill post.

lamin-x guy e-mailed me back saying they JUST finished their mazda3 tail smoke kit, i think i\'m gonna order it soon . . . he sent me pics of a scion tc with the kit, same colour as I would be getting and it looks good :)

i think it looks pretty good, and i think it\'ll look good on the red too, make the lights not the exact same colour as the car, and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying the gfx tails!

so i ordered the lamin-x smoked, they are 17% tint :D
