Hey everybody, need some help/opinions.
My sister needs a new car as the elase on her existing car is up at the end of April.
I was hoping to get her to go with a Mazda 3, because I have been so pleased with mine. However, she went into Honda and they offered a 2005 Civic LXG Sedan with auto transmission, and AC(ABS, and power windows/locks all she cares about). They are offering her $325 per month taxes in with $0 down. Do you think Mazda can compete?
wow! thats a pretty daym good price . . . with ac and auto and all . . .
I\'m not sure if mazda could beat that price, however she should consider what gets her the best bang for her buck! I was looking at the LXG too, similar price I got quoted as well, but I figured the 3 is just so much more than the civic, in so many ways! plus its prettier on the outside and inside, and more HP and more EVERYTHING!! :p but we all know that the 3 is a better car in so many ways . . . but bottom line, the civic right now is at a really good lease/financing rate :sarc

Civic will be redesigned about fall time, so Honda will have better deal than Mazda 3. For sure both are great car and no need to worry about reliablity for several yrs.

I am trying to swing her to the Mazda, but the engine power and interior are not major factors. She is upgrading from her current Saturn coupe, which sucks a$$.

on that monthly payment and 0 down. i say she go for it. mazda cant beat that price.
Is that offer on another lease or financing? If its financing, they might be able to touch that on the GS not sure. If its a lease then they can definately touch that. I am paying 320 a month on the sedan GT GFX, Manual with extended 4 year 100,000km warranty. I did have nearly 4 down cause of the taxes but if she lowers the model a bit then she can do it.
No matter what model she goes with on the Mazda 3 she will have more power ;) :p

Could be a possibe!!!!!!
Go to Avante
no joke. I just got a friend her 3 GT Sedan at around 350 a month.
I\'m sure if she doesn\'t care about whatever package... if she gets the lowest model with auto, the price will be beaten. Call up Jeff Holley at Avante Mazda, tell him that I sent you and explain the Honda situation, and I\'m sure he can work prices with you, He did for my friend.

Yeah, he used to be the Assistant Manager at Toronto, and then became manager at the RH location
Oh and another thing with HONDA. I got beef with them. Ever since the 2000 models. My bro\'s got the 2000 Honda civic sedan SE.... it sucks, within the first two years, the o2 sensor gave, including a cracked manifold... and back passenger door has seized, so my brother\'s got a 3 door civic. Not happy with production with HONDA these days, unless it\'s made in Japan. And now, in the car\'s 5th year, the VSS (I think is gone)... either that or the Speedo. I grew up with Honda\'s... my dad\'s old 93 civic never EVER gave us a problem like that... retardedness

I called the guy at Prima Mazda who sold me my car. He gave me a great deal, and two of my friends as well.
Anyhow he said for a similar Mazda3, I\'d be looking at $360 a month for the GT. He said the problem is Honda\'s lease rate is about 4% less than Mazda\'s.
kinda dissapointed, I could not get her into a Mazda.

At the end of the day both are great cars. The 3 is more of a drivers car whereas the Civic is old faithful. If she is just a point A to point B type of gal than I would suggest the Civic. The Honda will likely retain it\'s value a bit better than the 3.

News flash from the biz office..
The lease rate on the 3 has just gone down...
It is now 3.9% for the 4 yr term.
Very competitive with the Civic now.:)

Oh man, I\'m sure that\'s gonna piss a few people off who just signed leases at the ridiculously high rates they used to be not too long ago:(

Unfortunately, financing cars... blah blah blah... anything with the bank (speaking with a bank kid).... (laugh).... it\'s like gambling.
