I always wondered why the Civic and Corolla wouldn\'t up their horsepower and try and gain some NEW FRIGGIN customers and retain some. They know they have good engineering, fit/finish and reliability nailed down, NOW get some steroids dammit. These companies have the 4cyl engine as their bread and butter and are the best in the world. The technology, ingenuity we know they have seems to have them as underachievers. Personally, I think the Big Three would S#it their pants.
I read the article and think... pshhhhhhhhh, like everyone will listen to him or care.
Why do we still sell alcohol and cigarettes? Same reason; customer demand!
People want more horsepower and we don\'t care how it will affect the environment (to be honest). Otherwise why do we remove cats?
Sure the numbers are totally different but there will always be those of us who want more horses just like there will be those of us who like to light it up or drink it up.
Sounds like Mr. Breton just stepped outta the closet :D
As Homer J. Simpson would probably put it, \"Demand goes up, Revenue goes up, Demand goes down, Revenue goes down, Demand goes up, Revenue goes up...\"

Well, considering we are the age group that buys the cars nowadays, we are the people who look to get the most outta the buck, and if not, we\'re the ones that have becomg a little more materialistic ... I don\'t think it\'s more of A to B anymore.... it\'s what stylish, to compliment our tastes, the feel of the power that we love.
At the same time, yes the world may come to the end after our generation ... :P Other dealerships are coming out with Hybrids... and coming out with more technology to become more environmentally Friendly. But technically, that takes time and revenue. Those who can afford to put out the extra cash for an enviro friendlier car .... will do so and then cost will go down on those types of cars... and then before you know it within ten years.... that will take over. A new type of car that\'s enviro friendly is almost like a NEW BRAND of car.
I personally would love to have an enviro friendly car... would be nice, but can I afford it? Oh heck no.... therefore, I go to the next step... what\'s the sweetest car I can get for my money.... and well..... 3 months later I picked up a sweet blue ass that looks better than my own asian tiny butt
:D :D :D
The final result? That guy is nothin but a complainer.... An old dude screwming to take that music off the radio... (laugh)... GENERATION GAP

i wouldn\'t mind driving a hybrid or a more enviro friendly car but it needs to get power somehwere :) i like the hybrid accord, better mileage than the regular and more power than the v6 version :D but not affordable at the moment.. or i\'d rather have 2 mazda3s :) hehe

In my opinion the 4cyl engines that are Japaneese based with the VTEC or VVti or iVTEC are not the problem. We sip from the fossil fuel reserves rather than gulp and chugg. It is the DUMBESTTIC 4cyl,6cyl,8cyl,10cyl,12cyl that are the friggin. problem. The companies lack creativity and ingenuity in their quest for more towing, pushing and pulling power when most of the customer only haul the occasional heavy load. It\'s the mass obsession for SUV\'s, P/U\'s not used in Industrial applications.
LONG LIVE RICE BURNERS!!!:sarc
And yes.., I would by a hybrid if they weren\'t so friggin expensive to begin with and not looked so ugly. The only economical and goodlooking ones are the Accord V6 and the Ford Escape . Forget the Civic, not enough package and power to justify a $30.000 tag, the Toyota Insight is fugly. The Toyota Prius ain\'t too bad but need to look more sporty and attractive to my generation and it\'s way too pricey too.
