craftsmanship: 9/10 - just that slight blemish but meh.. nobody\'s gonan look. worse comest to worst i\'ll steal my gf\'s clear nail polish :)
price: 10/10 - only $25CAD shipped and converted from USD, all pricing clear and upfront about paypal charges.
delivery: 10/10 - fast from the moment it was shipped out and escaped duties thanks to the shipping method
timing: 8/10 - a little longer than planned 5 weeks or so but understandable, with this high quality work, ppl jumped all over this on M3F.
overal: 9.5/10 - EXCELLENT work by a fellow engineer and now he has AT and MT pedal covers available as well - or at least in testing stages. Highly recommended.
April 6, 2005 - Dead pedal from sok07 on m3f (http://mazda3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=13991) arrives.
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0526.jpg
The dead pedal was nicely wrapped in a paper towel and subsequently in bubble wrap. there was a 10cm x 10cm patch of \'sandpaper\' (nonslip stuff) and a precut \'mazda3\'.

http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0528.jpg
Deadpedal upclose and personal.
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0529.jpg
There was a slight blemish (the clearcoat peeled) and I was hoping I could cover it with the nonslip stuff.
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0531.jpg
There was also a little bit of extra clearcoat built up in one area, barely noticable though.
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0532.jpg
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0534.jpg
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0538.jpg
I opted not to have holes mounted b/c I did not want to screw the pedal into the unknown under the carpet, so I got some industrial strenght velcro as per MajesticBlueN\'s suggestion.
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0542x.jpg
April 14, 2005 - Finally got my ass in gear to get this thing going. I wanted to wait a little b/c I was in the process of cleaning the carpet a bit andnow I finally found some time to do it. I asked Daniel (sok07) not to cut and affix the nonslip stuff as I did not know what kind of a design I wanted and it seemed like it changed from pedal to pedal (as seen on m3f). I finally came up with something that seemed pretty good. The horizontal and vertical spacing is 1.5cm As you see, it barely fit on the 100cm^2 area of the nonslip stuff. I cut the blanks with a knife on a cutting board and attached them to the back of the nonslip stuff to make cutting easier. My scissors are dull now :p
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0631.jpg
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0632x.jpg
Nonslip stuff applied
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0633.jpg
Industrial strength velcro stuck to the back - note to self: it REALLY sticks to your fingers :)
http://xs37.xs.to/pics/05286/IMG_0636.jpg
Final product - I found it was the easiest to slide a piece of paper under the pedal, place it in the right spot and then remove the paper from underneath. the velcro is really strong! I used the harder part on the pedal and it sticks to the carpet like glue!!!

thanks.. just be aware it\'ll take some time as he makes 1-2 pedals a day. I think it was something over 5 weeks, don\'t remember exactly.
The Velcro can be aquired at the nearest walmart for $4.59 I believe. Once I attach my rear floor mats with it (they slide around like mad) I\'ll see how much leftovers I have and then if you want you don\'t have to spend $5 on it ;)

a touch over CAD$100 when taxes are factored in, but including the Club discount. As a whole number have reported, I can also attest that they work great. They look snazzy too!

I just installed mine last night... Incredible work. I\'ve seen the same deadpedal in wtom\'s car... That thing screams quality.
In fact, it\'s so good that I paid $25US as a token of appreciation... :p

Same here, in the end I shelled out C$30 shipped for my deadpedal from Daniel. I used the screws, no problems as it\'s some kind of foam underneath that footrest area.

Hey Majic,
I can\'t get the pics to load. I am too in a position to buy a dead petal and I am not favouring screwing the pedal in as it\'s too permanent for my liking. I\'m very interested in your technique but I cannot see the pics!! All red X\'s! :)

FYI....
Anyone planning on ordering a Dead Pedal from Sok07 (aka Daniel),
should order it before Saturday May 21, 2005.
No new \"waitlist\" entries at the current prices, will be added after that day.
To get your name on the list, just send him an email and tell him what you want.
He makes about 6 to 8 a week, so you can roughly figure out how long it will take.
Payment is made after viewing pics of the completed pedal and you are satisfied with the outcome.

if u look at the first link in my first post.. ;)
The deadpedal plates are made of 22-gauge galvanized weld steel sheet.
they are clearcoated.. so if the CC chips off then they\'ll start rusting.. :(

Duly noted majoogle..:p
:D
I intend to make mine (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=3880) from 5mm 6063 aluminum, and then use a colored oxidation to finish.
Still working on the design, in between removing my \"knob and tube\" (shut it, perverts) wiring and completely re-doing the whole frickin house....grumble....grumble

how much is the Mazdaspeed6 one and what does it look like?? thanks..
btw, I\'m just wondering.. my name is on the list for sok07\'s dead pedal.. I\'m hoping since it\'s like the 10th gen model it won\'t rust.. but since I\'m on this topic, has anybody gotten a dead pedal from sok07 lately?? I\'m just wondering if he fixed the rusting properly.. I know he sprays his pedals with stuff but I\'m just curious how well the stuff he uses works..
too bad the mazda 3 doesn\'t come with a dead pedal.. grrrrr..

There shouldn\'t be a fitment issue for these pedals b/c they bolt onto (drilling involved)the pedal instead of slipping on the pedal.

I understand but the thing is on the 06 the brake pedal curves out on the top as in these curve out in the middle. So IF i do get these installed then the top of my pedal will have something sticking out. Get what i mean?:)

Well they list them for the 06 Axela in Japan so they should still fit no problem.
