k, now if some of you may remember, i have that cd to burn for a few of you guys on here....anywyas, i finally recieved it, BUT, its one LONG continous track...meaning, u would have to skip thru the cd to get to a certain points...

now, hwo can i go about putting track numbers in, without creating pauses inbetween teh songs? i just want track numbers to make it easier to skip thru the cd, without loosing the integrity of it being a one constant freely flowing mix cd...if that makes sence to you guys?

1) extract the wav file.. it\'ll be of whopping size ~700mb
2) use software such as cool edit pro (i think it\'s adobe audition) or some freeware stuff that will alow you to cut wavs .. WavTrim (http://www.mptrim.com/WavTrim.html) - prolly easier and free :)
2a) cut them up to roughy where the songs end (use jetaudio or any player to figure out where you need cutting - front and back)
3) burn the compilation with Nero (or whatver you prefer) and ensure you remove the silence b/w tracks (usually it\'s 2sec) - in nero, highlight all tracks and rt. click, the properties and there\'s a \"pause\" field. make that equal to 0
3a) nero will complain that first track needs 2 sec offset or something like that. let nero fix that and burn

note: you will still hear some delay, transition won\'t be UBER smooth but this is the best way i know .. try it out on a RW and tell us how it turned out

I use Cool Edit Pro for alll my music editing needs, and to tell you the truth, it aint that hard... the program could be a bit overwhelming at first, cause of all the extras, but don\'t let the program intimidate you bubba, it\'s pretty straight forward... I\'m gonna try to give you a step by step of how I go about separating my tracks using Cool Edit Pro and then an Audio CD burning software (ie: Nero, Roxio Easy CD Creator, ect.)

First thing to note, is that you will need to have a big empty space to work with the audio file, cause it may get large (I estimate to have at least 700MB x 2 free, so about 1.5GB)

1) Open your WAV file using Cool Edit Pro
2) Using the selection tool (or cursor) place it in the spot that you would like the next track to begin
3) Right click the cursor and in the drop down menu select \"Add Cue\"
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you\'ve marked ALL the tracks you would like to be able to skip through
5) Save it, cause if u crash after this you maybe kicking yourself for a while
6) Under Edit menu, go to Snapping and then select \"Snap to Cues\"
7) NOW comes the seperation part -- Click and Drag (or Highlight) one Cue to the other (this is where the snapping works well) and then Under Edit menu select \"Copy to New\"
8) You will now have the selected (or highlighted) portion from step 7, in a new window, on it\'s own.
9) Save this audio WAV on your hardrive in a folder and make sure to name it using NUMBERS so that it won\'t get mixed up and you will be able to burn it in the same order as was extracted from the original source.... or else you WONT hear any continous mix, just hack transitions from track to track... (I find it works best to name it 01 Title, 02 Title, 03 Title, and so on)
10) Repeat Steps 7, 8 and 9 until you have all the desired tracks seperated into their own audio files.
11) Using Nero or Roxio or whatever Audio CD burning program is at your disposition, place those files (IN ORDER) so that you can burn then to an AUDIO cd... and as majis said earlier, change the setting so that there is ZERO SECONDS gap between tracks
12) If done correctly you should now be enjoying and pimping your newly-track-seperated CD.

it\'s probably due to the settings on you rripping software, didn\'t create a proper pcm wav as per the spec of 16bit, 41000 Hz That should be what you need.

go to download.com and look for a free piece of software called \"audiograbber\" ... it\'s prolly the easiest software to use for extracting WAV formats from Audio CD\'s

Thanks majic!
