GI: Would Mazda3 guys be interested?

K, I\'ve tried the PM function, but not sure if that worked, so I figured I\'d post it up and ask all here to see what you guys think?

Don\'t know who to run this by? but maybe someone could help me out, since I don\'t really know when you guys have your may Meet? Hope this wont interfere with it though... let me know if it does

Alright, so this is what I\'m thinking. I would like to see how many people would be interested in a lil show & shine at Yorkdale Shopping Center Lot?

I\'m thinking a meet to bring together some Mazda3\'s and Protege\'s together in one spot.. to shoot the shiet and admire the cars, but i think this would be good to get to meet eachother and talk CARS, basically?

I\'ve posted this up on TOPROTEGE and it seems that we\'re getting some good feedback, so far, so I want to make sure 3\'s will want to come out as well Thread on toprotege.com (http://ib2.toprotege.com/ikonboard.cgi?s=42768e7a40a2ffff&act=ST&f=15&t=202 23&st=)

I\'d say to to do it at Yorkdale cause of A)the number of cars this may generate, and there seems to be a lot of empty parking space. B) It\'s about halfway between Mississauga, Scarlem, Downtown, and Farmside so that no one side has to travel farther than the others? C) everyone knows where it is, so no one gets lost D) there\'s alot of people that will be wowed by seeing all the cars...

Tentative meet date would be May 29th, 2005 SUNDAY?

Let me know if that works for the 3\'s to head out as well?

I see no problem with your post/invite. It\'d be up to each individual member if they wanna meet up or not. I might not be able to make it though but I\'ll see.

That and our official meet is the last Saturday of every month; May 28th. :)

For all other members, if you\'re free, and you\'re a car enthusiast, you will seriously get a hard-on or wet (or both) if you go to a Protege meet!

BTW, isn\'t Yorkdale just like another Scarborough Town Centre? Security is a tight biatch I heard...

Scooter, has mentioned that to me already, but this would be the case at any of the malls meets we do... We\'ve made rookie meets in the past and the first year we were harrased, but then the second year... nothing, so it really depends on how lucky we get...

As for your meet on May 28th? where would you guys be hosting it? maybe we could arrange something to work with that date instead?

Get scooter on here. I need a new Eastside location for Saturday\'s at 4pm for our Eastside location. We use to go to Kennedy Commons but on a Saturday, 4pm, that place is too damn busy and packed to hold an organized car park meet.

Right now it\'s suppose to Kennedy Commons for May 28th (rotation from AMC Courtney Park to 400/7 to Kennedy Commons) but I\'m looking for a better (empty) lot. At present, I\'m only considering office building lots that are not gated and are totally empty on a Saturday afternoon.

I\'m sure all attendees would prefer somewhere nearby the 401.

I did consider Lucent Technologies parking lot up at \"Rodick Rd & Apple Creek Blvd
Unionville, ON, Canada\" (go to maps.google.com and search for that location, after it finds it, click on SATELLITE in the upper right of the window, zoom in, and look for the parking lot in the south west corner). But it\'s a bit far from the 404 for some (???)

I would suggest a GO station. They\'re usually deserted on Saturday afternoon, honest. NO cars at all.

i think it\'s a good idea for a Toronto Mazda meet BUT for TM3ers to come out you would PROBABLY have to host it in between our saturday meets (mid month in this case). I mean maybe i\'m wrong but how much can you talk about cars on saturday and then again the same stuff on sunday where nothing happens overnight.

For this time i would say, TM3 should extend an invite to mazda3.ca/protege5.ca and make a big meet 1 day (the 28th)

I dunno just my opinions.. and they are just opinions :p

thanks for the input Majic, sounds great and you do have some pretty good points... I guess once your may meet is finalized then you could let us know, and see how many protege\'s would actually head out (difficult to say) since MOST of our members are Westside.. and It would be a fair trek across the city to make a meet in the eastend

there might be another thread but i found this (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=385) where we voted on when our meets occur. it\'s last saturday of each month unless A) it falls on a holiday B) weather conditions do not allow for a safe meet

A) hasn\'t happened yet but if it does we\'ll vote and see what alternate date suits most members

B) we chose to scrap winter monthly meets and meet up 1ce or 2ce over the snowy season.

so i would say it\'s pretty much set in stone.. and if there\'s a disaster or crappy weather (thunderstorms, torrential downpours etc) then a Toronto Mazda meet won\'t go down anyway :p

sooo.. just tell the toprotege guys/girls to come on and join us :)
