I\'m thinking of getting tints as well and read the threads on them...but they\'re mostly for the dark M3s. I got the Arctic White M3 and I\'m hesitant to do tints on it cause I don\'t like the look of white cars with dark tints...but I want the privacy. I once saw a few cars with these tints that didn\'t look too dark but they had this real real subtle reflection that made it so you really couldn\'t see inside easily. Anyone know what these tints are called? The last time I tinted my black Protege I went to a guy and wanted them but he didn\'t know what they were so I just got 35\'s all around.. What are they called!?

btw - saw the threads for the lighted door sills - they look awesome. I might look into getting those done too.

Call up Martin or Wayne at FX Auto (if you can trek to their location at 11 Heritage Road, Markham) 905-471-7555 and say you\'re from Toronto Mazda3 car club. The reflective film is called called Premiere film. The price should be C$250 cash, tax in.

Called Wayne up and he seemed pretty helpful. I\'m going to drop in sometime this week and hopefully they will have a few M3\'s available to see before I decide. But I really haven\'t seen this combo of paint colour and tint so I did some work and photoshoped a white m3sport with the two types of tints I\'m debating between. The tints on top have this metallic look to them that becomes really noticeable from certain angles but is otherwise slightly noticeable. The bottom tints are standard tints (not sure of the %). The top pic shows the metallic tint at its most metallic (ie - it\'s NOT like a pure mirror...)

I really can\'t decide between the two. I thought the metallic one would look better but it doesn\'t look as good as I thought it would with the white paint. But then again they don\'t look bad.. don\'t know...too torn up between the two!! :sarc I\'d like to hear some opinions.. Thanks!

p.s. - mine doesn\'t have the hood deflector...that\'s a picture of someone else\'s m3sport I\'m using (copyright violation, anyone!?) :D

For your reference, this guy, Brianmp5t (http://www.cardomain.com/id/brianmp5t), has reflective tints on his white P5.
I think reflective tints look better on darker car.

Where can I get reflective tints? I didn\'t see them at FX when I went way back last June...

I think I would\'ve probably gotten them instead if I had known earlier

yes pics will definitely help! I\'m especially interested in seeing how the white sport looks with the metallic ones b/c I\'ve seen quite a bit of the standard tints already on the white. Would you mind taking a few pics from different angles to see how the tints play with the light? this would be mmmuch appreciated. :)

autoexe - it\'s the Premiere film at FX Auto

Optimzer - I personally like the non-reflective on the white.

hehe - thanks for putting that one up anyway. I actually just noticed for the first time the little \'trim\' around the rear quarter window and back window. Those look like 30 or 35 all the way around?

I have the Premier film already. It doesn\'t look anything like that (I\'m referring to Brianmp5t\'s car in the link).

I don\'t think that picture\'s an accurate representation of what the Premier film looks like. It\'s not nearly as reflective as that. I have the 35% Premier film from FX and it looks like this on my car:

autoexe - yes, the guys at FX told me that it\'s difficult to judge a tint from a picture b/c almost all of them (including premiere) will come out looking like a black tint. And the premiere film is reflective only in certain types of lighting conditions. It seems more reflective under overcast skies where light is distributed and generally looks less reflective on a sunny day when the light is more focused. That\'s all relative to regular tint, btw. My picture might have overdone the reflection a little but I wanted to get the tints at its most reflective. I will come out to a meet and see all the cars including yours to see how they differ. Thanks for posting the pic!

My GT has 28% Formula One \'Ultimate\' Performance film all around.
Metallic film with a lifetime gaurantee not to fade or change colour.
It is a multi-ply no-dye film with less reflectivity and higher heat rejection.

makes me sound proud of my tint :) I paid $265 if you want something to base your purchase on.

I just read the other tint post. There are different kinds of tint. If they are giving you premier film, it dosen\'t come in 30%.
