1000km 4 day round trip to Detroit on business and mini-van is required.
Any dealings and thoughts with some popular companies.
Avis, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar, Advantage, Budget, National, Discount, Enterprise. These were the ones I immediately saw in the yellow pages. and could afford bigger advertising with chain affilliation.
I haven\'t rented a vehicle in years. What\'s the norm out there with regards to policies, rip-off scams, usage? Who is up and coming with reputation and customer service? I\'m located in North Brampton and customer p/u and drop off would be nice too.
Any thoughts and input would be appreciated!

Oh yeah! For the minivan I want the best fuel efficiency in its clas, some sort of theft deterrent, hubcaps that can come off easily, rental agency plate frames that can be bolted off would be necessary and NO FRIGGIN RENTAL CAR AD STICKER ON THE VEHICLE.

I have had good experiences with Enterprise. Check with the rental agency though, anytime you are going over the border to the Us, rental becomes very tricky.

1) if it\'s on business then why do you care about gas mileage?
2) I\'ve had great experiences with enterprise as well when renting for busines purposes
2a) i have a coupon for a free upgrade if you\'re interetsed :p but i THINK it works for sedans only.. :(
2b) enterprise has a little \'e\' on the bumper (1\" squared max)

As for the purpose of trip It\'s more of a family business trip; Wills, Estates, Death Certific., Banking, Inheritance legal shit for the older folks.

I usually rent from Avis in Richmond Hill (a good friend of mine owns it) It\'s in Richmond hill on Yonge, just south of Elgin Mills on the East side. Ask for Jacob and tell him Mark sent you... If you are interested, email me at mp3master@rogers.com and I\'ll let him know to expect you.

I had good luck with Hertz a while back. I drove to Boston and they didn\'t mind while most other rental places either did\'t allow me to go to Boston or cross into the USA. They had unlimited kilometers as well. Considering it\'s Detroit, you\'d better make sure you\'re allowed to take it there first, just in case. :)
