It was pretty common in the 50's to name your hot-rod....and I believe the practice was carried over from ww2 when pilots would name their planes.By the way I call mine Christine after my little girl and she loves it :)

My last car was a '94 Corsica that I'd had since I finished highschool. I named him Frank-a plain name but he got the job done. I had him for 5 years, and honestly had a hard time watching him go when I got my new car. (Fortunately sold him to my best friend, so I visit him frequently still).

My new car is named Tink...but I also refer to her as Little Car. I've already grown quite attached to her as well :)
